There are many different sunscreens on the market for different people and different types of skin. However, one of the problems faced by people who suffer from acne is how to protect their skin from the effects of the sun while maintaining a level of beauty and not causing breakouts. There are several brands and options available from ones who are budget-conscious to those on the more expensive end.

Cosmedicine Medi-Matte Oil Control Lotion SPF 20

This sunscreen is perfect for skin that is prone to acne. It not only protects against sun damage caused by UVA/UVB rays, but it works as a mortifier to reduce the amount of shine in oily skin. Coppertone Sunblock Lotion Oil Free for Faces SPF 30

One of the major makes of sun products offers a product that is safe for those of us who have acne. This product has plenty of antioxidants, and vitamins to help take care of your skin while you are protecting it. It is oil free so that it will not clog pores and cause breakouts and blemishes. In addition, this one is reasonably priced.

As with any type of sunscreen, some people still may breakout from certain sunscreens. So, if you tend to have really problem skin, test it out by doing a patch test and applying a small amount to the inside of your wrist before using it all over.

It is true that you get what you pay for sometimes, in that some of the more expensive brands on the market are better at not causing pimples, blackheads and whiteheads. However, it is best to remember that any protection is better than no protection at all and the effects that could eventually face you years down the road.
