Sunscreen for Skin Cancer Survivors: Preventing Cancer Relapse

Though sunscreen should be important to everyone, skin cancer survivors have to be doubly careful they use proper sunscreen to protect from cancer relapse. By taking a look at some of the most popular sunscreen products for cancer survivors, hopefully you will be able to make an informed decision on the sun block product that is right for your situation.

Banana Boat Sport SPF 30 with UVA and UVB sunblock lotion is an excellent product for cancer survivors. This product is waterproof and non-greasy with very little scent. This Banana Boat product comes in spray, lotion, pump spray and stick forms. The Skin Cancer Foundation recommends Banana Boat Sport for production from the sun's harmful rays and is proud to have their symbol stamped on every bottle.

Banana Boat Sunwear Daily Sunblock lotion is another product recommended by the Skin Caner Foundation. This product is great for skin cancer survivors that are exposed to the harmful sun rays on a daily basis. Available in a spray, lotion or stick this SPF of this product ranges from 15 to 80.

Avon Sunblock Lotion SPF 30 is a fairly inexpensive sunblock product that is waterproof for up to four hours. This product is PABA free and is non-greasy. Vitamin E is used in Avon Sunblock Lotion and it adds moisture to the skin. You will never even know you have it on since it is fragrance free.

Eucerin Extra Protective Moisture Lotion SPF 30 is recommended by skin caner survivors because of the titanium dioxide used in making this product as well as the high level of UVA and UVB sun protection. The Skin Cancer Foundation has added their seal of approval to the back of Eucerin. You can use it under make-up and it provides skin moisturization for up to 24 hours.

SkinCeuticals Physical UV Defense SPF 30 provides a high level of UVA and UVB sun protection. This product can be used daily and is recommended by skin cancer survivors. The 5% transparent zinc oxide and 10% titanium dioxide contained in this product make it great for all skin types. SkinCeuticals is not waterproof and needs to be reapplied two hours after swimming.

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock SPF 55 offers more than simple protection from sunburn. This product also offers sun damage protection. The Helioplex technology is patented to bring protection from the UVA and UBV rays. Avobenzone and Oxybenzone are unique ingredients that block the sun's harmful UV rays. Neutrogena has a variety of products that range from SPF protection of 20 to 70.

SunSwipe Sunscreen Toweletts work wonderful for busy people who need to protect themselves and their family against the rays of the sun. These towelettes come in SPF 15, 30, or 45. Available with SPF ranging from 30 to 50, this product won't clog the pores of your skin. Wear it with confidence that your skin is protected from the sun's harmful rays.

Whatever product you choose, make sure when you are exposed to the sun you protect yourself from the harmful rays.
