These Easy Super Bowl Party Recipes Are Sure to Please

Rebecca Livermore
Food is a very important part of any party, including Super Bowl parties. Although food is important, it is also important for the host of the Super Bowl party to have as much fun as his/her guests. One way to do that is to use disposable plates, bowls, cups, napkins, etc. so you won't be left with a mess of dishes after your Super Bowl party is over.

Another way for the host to have as much fun at the Super Bowl party as his guests is to prepare super easy Super Bowl party recipes. Especially since the Super Bowl party will likely be a very informal event, there is no reason to knock yourself out when it comes to preparing the food for your Super Bowl party.

Here are a few easy Super Bowl party recipes and ideas to get you started!

Easy Super Bowl Party Recipes: Bruschetta

1 loaf French bread
4 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
4 tomatoes, diced
15-20 fresh basil leaves, sliced into thin strips
1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
Salt and pepper to taste

Turn on broiler while preparing ingredients.

Slice bread in half, lengthwise. Put on baking sheet and place under broiler for just a minute or two, till it is very slightly browned. You basically just want to dry it a bit to keep it from getting soggy when you put the other ingredients on it.

Turn off the broiler, and turn on the oven to 375 degrees.

Mix the rest of the ingredients together and spoon evenly over the bread.

Bake, just until the cheese is melted. This should take about 8 minutes. Cut into slices and serve immediately.

Easy Super Bowl Party Recipes: Breadsticks with Marinara Sauce

Canned breadsticks - you'll find these in the refrigerated section.
Grated parmesan cheese
Italian seasoning
Melted butter

Prepared spaghetti sauce - your favorite brand or whatever is on sale is fine.

Heat oven to the temperature stated on the breadsticks can.

While the oven is heating, put the breadstick on a baking stone or cookie sheet and brush with melted butter. Sprinkle with grated parmesan cheese and a light sprinkling of Italian seasoning.

Bake the breadsticks according to the instructions on the package.

Serve with warm spaghetti sauce for dipping.

Easy Super Bowl Party Recipes: Crock Pot Chicken Chili

8 oz. cheddar cheese, grated
8 oz Monterey jack cheese, grated
8 oz. Monterey pepper jack cheese, grated
32 oz. green salsa
16 oz can of great northern beans
2 cooked chicken breasts, diced
Tortilla chips

Place all ingredients except for tortilla chips into a crock pot. Stir to mix well. Cook on low heat for 2 hours, stirring occasionally. Serve with tortilla chips.

Easy Super Bowl Party Recipes: Self-Serve Nachos

Nachos are one of the easiest foods to prepare. They can be made minimally with just refried beans and cheese, or be fully loaded with all kinds of toppings. Put the following ingredients out and then let your guests go to town with preparing nachos just the way they like them!

Tortilla chips
Refried beans
Taco meat (you can purchase it already made, or make it yourself)
Diced chicken
Shredded cheese (Some good types are cheddar, jack and pepper jack. If you choose to use pepper jack, be sure to have a less spicy type of cheese available also.)
Diced onions
Sliced black olives
Sliced pickled jalapeno peppers
Sour cream
Guacamole
Salsa - a variety of mild, medium and hot salsas

Instruct your guests to build their nachos however they please, starting with chips on the bottom of the plate.

Once they've built the nachos the way they want them, they can use the microwave to heat them. It generally takes between one and two minutes for nachos to heat well in the microwave and for the cheese to melt. Since nachos will be just part of the food at your Super Bowl party, you shouldn't have to be concerned about there being a long line at the microwave as people will probably prepare these sporadically, throughout the party. However, it might be helpful to borrow a small microwave so you'll have more than one available to use.

Easy Super Bowl Party Recipes: Frito Pie

This is another super easy Super Bowl party recipe that is sure to be a hit at your Super Bowl party!

Fritos
Canned chili - with or without beans
Cheese
Diced onions

Heat the chili. You might want to heat it in the crock pot and then just keep it on low throughout your party, so the chili will stay hot. Add just a bit of water to it to keep it from scorching, and check it occasionally to make sure it isn't getting too thick. Add water, a tablespoon at a time, as needed.

All that has to be done to prepare the Frito Pie is to dump Fritos into individual bowls, and top with heated chili, cheese, and if desired, diced onions.

This is another dish your Super Bowl party guests can basically prepare themselves.

Easy Super Bowl Party Recipes: Cream Cheese Chili Dip

2 8 oz blocks of cream cheese
1 can tomatoes with green chilies (e.g. Rotel)
1 can chili without beans
Tortilla chips or Fritos

Put all ingredients except chips into a microwave safe bowl. Heat for 2 minutes. Stir. Heat for another minute; stir. Keep doing this till the cheese is melted and heated through. Serve with tortilla chips.

This is another great one for the crock pot, especially if you have one of those small, 1-quart crock pots.

In addition to these less than healthy foods, put out some vegetables and dip and a fruit tray.

Keep dessert just as easy as the rest of the items listed above by providing a couple of types of ice cream and a variety of toppings.

If you serve alcohol, be sure to also provide an assortment of soft drinks and water for your guests who choose not to drink.

Most of all, relax, and have a great time at your Super Bowl party with these easy Super Bowl party recipes.
