Super Bowl XLV : Which Team Do You Root For?

2010 NFL Playoffs: Who is Going to Win Super Bowl XLV?

Brian Munger
The 2010 NFL football season is only weeks away from being completed. With only eight teams left in the playoffs, there is a good chance that your team is now sitting at home for the postseason. So now the big question . . . which team do you support if your team is already out of the playoffs?

First off, one of the most important things to consider is which division each playoff team is from. In order to stay faithfully committed and loyal to your team, you must not root for anyone that is in your own division. For example, if you are a Minnesota Vikings fan, you are not allowed to pull for the Green Bay Packers or Chicago Bears! Supporting a rival is the ultimate sin. The only time it is acceptable is if that rival needs to win a game during the end of the regular season to allow your team to slip into the playoffs as a #5 or #6 seed. Otherwise, it's strictly forbidden.

So who is left, you ask? Below is a list of the teams that are still alive in the 2010 playoffs. For each team, there is a reason of why you may want to support this team. After carefully analyzing each team, make your selection and stick with it!

-Atlanta Falcons:

There is a very simple reason to pull for the Falcons. They have NEVER won a Super Bowl! Maybe this is their year?

-Seattle Seahawks:

Like the Falcons, they have never won a Super Bowl. In addition, Seattle entered the playoffs with a dismal record of 7-9. How fun would it be to root for the ultimate underdog? History would be made if a losing team won the Super Bowl!

-Chicago Bears:

Quarterback Jay Cutler has been one of the most highly criticized quarterbacks of the past three seasons. Despite all of the hate and negative comments, Cutler has overcome weak performances and multi-interception games to help the Bears gain a #2 seed. Cheer him on as he strives to get everybody off his back for once!

-Green Bay Packers:

The Packers winning the Super Bowl would be the ideal way to "close the chapter" on Brett Favre. Aaron Rodgers will never have to hear anymore negative criticisms of how he performs in relation to the former Packer legend. This will verify that the Packers are Rodgers' team . . . not Favre's old team!

-Pittsburgh Steelers:

Dallas Cowboy haters would enjoy seeing the Steelers win. If Pittsburgh wins the Super Bowl, they will add on to their 1st place ranking of Super Bowl trophies, which currently stands at 6. Dallas is in 2nd place with 5. Earning that 7th Super Bowl trophy would cushion their lead and possibly justify claims of the Steelers being the "best overall team of the Super Bowl era."

-Baltimore Ravens:

If you want a reason to support the Ravens, look no further than linebacker, Ray Lewis. His love and passion for the game is unmatched by anyone. In a game that is clouded by money-hungry divas and underachievers, it is so gratifying to see a Pro Bowler like Ray Lewis play like his life is on the line every single play. Ray Lewis is the ideal "poster guy" for the NFL.

-New England Patriots:

It'd somewhat difficult to root for a team that already has won a handful of trophies the past decade-even more difficult considering the smug and cocky gestures of their head coach. Although, if you are a female, you probably think Tom Brady is really cute with all that hair of his.

-New York Jets:

This is another underdog story. Not so much the team, but the quarterback. Not many people believe that Mark Sanchez has what it takes to help guide this team to a trophy. Do you believe in Mark Sanchez??
