Every gamer out there has at least heard of the classic Nintendo Entertainment System game, Super Mario Bros. This is a classic that was created in 1985 by Nintendo and can still be found today. The following will describe my personal review of this game and my likes and dislikes of it. I began playing Super Mario Bros. when I was just a young child, probably around the age of 5. Back then it was fun just to run and jump and hit blocks, even though I more than often crashed into mushrooms and fell into holes. This game was a favorite pastime of my older brother and I and we continued to play it over the years until our old Nintendo Entertainment System gave out. At that time, there were newer systems such as play stations and x boxes that took over the world of gaming, and the NES fell behind. It wasn't until recently that I figured out I could play my beloved Super Mario Bros. again. The Nintendo Wii console had a way for me to download this game to my Wii system through Wii points. I began playing again and quickly realized that my addiction to beating King Koopa was still prevalent at the age of 20. Now, I realize that kids today are used to video games with high features and incredible graphics, however sometimes it is nice to take advantage of the simple things.

Now I will include what I feel are some of the greatest and worst features of Super Mario Bros:

What I like:

-Simplicity

-Lack of gruesome killing- in this game you are shooting ducks and mushrooms, however you can do so without having a bad feeling

-Never gets old- I have literally played this game repeatedly for the last few weeks, and even though I have managed to make it to the final castle and win, I still find myself turning the system back on and starting all over again

A few dislikes:

-To some, the graphics are way too boring

-I wish the mushroom head would go left or right like it does in Super Mario 3 (just a little pet peeve)

-Instead of alternating turns when you have 2 players, you have to wait for 1 person to die. This can be annoying when you are playing with someone who seems to never die.

With all of that said, I feel like this is a classic game that we will see well into the future. Who doesn't like to sit down, kick back and relive their childhood through Mario and Luigi? I say we all get in the mood from time to time.
