The game uses two forms of currency. You can make your purchases either with coins, which you collect from caring for your pet or your friends' pet, or with gold pieces that you can purchase online with a credit card or paypal account. If you're wondering about the quality and quantity available with the coins versus the gold pieces, don't. One of the best things about this game is that the available items for purchasing with the "free" coins is abundant and the quality of the graphics is as nice as those offered to premium users willing to purchase gold pieces out of their own pockets. Also, if you see something that you feel you must have at a premium price you can do so on an as need basis. This is possible because there is no premium membership fee. Gold pieces can be purchased in 50, 100, 250, 500 or larger quantities suiting your spending spree for $0.10 USD each. Thus your minimum purchase cost would be 50 gold pieces for $5 USD.
Now that we have the technical stuff out of the way, let's play!
Getting Started
Before you can adopt a pet and play you'll need to join the virtual community, which can be done in two ways. First, registered users on Facebook, My Space or Hi5 can request the add-on application module be added to your profile page and launch the game right from there. If you're not registered with these social networking sites head over to the Super Poke! Pets official website at www.superpokepets.com and click on Adopt Now.
Adopting A Pet
Currently there are 13 pets to choose from. These include a dog, a cat, a rabbit, a dragon, a chicken, a turtle, a pig, a tiger, a frog, a monkey, a penguin, a panda bear and a sheep. After you have selected and named your pet you'll need to provide him with a home, which is referred to in the game as a habitat. The game provides your first habitat, at no cost, and a little spending money (650 coins) if you complete the quick tutorial.
How To Play
When the game begins, your adopted pet will appear on screen inside a box. Within seconds he will burst from the box needing some care. The game's tutorial will walk you through the first few moves using an extremely user-friendly interface easily understood by children and adults. Here you will learn how to shop at the pet store, decorate your habitat and feed, clean and play with your pet. Caring for your pet will earn you coins and pet points. Pet points are your "level ups." At the end of the tutorial you will be taken to a new screen and asked to get more play dates. Why? Your pet needs some friends and so do you if you want to keep him happy. Play dates are the heart of the game, so to speak. The more friends you have the better your chance for collecting coins. You will be rewarded with pet points and 20 coins for each friend's pet habitat you visit during the day. But wait there's more! For every friend you have who visits your habitat you will receive pet points and 40 coins! Put simply, the more friends you make the more money you make, which means the bigger your shopping sprees can be.
Advancing through the game's many levels depends on one strategy that is to keep the coins and pet points coming. As you accumulate coins you can go to the pet shop and purchase a wide range of objects for decorating your habitat such as furniture, outdoor plants, kitchenware and so many other things. And if you've you can't find that perfect object for your habitat you can even stop by the forum and request it! The Pet Shop, which is stocked regularly with new items, sale items, gold items, offers its merchandise on a first come first serve basis. So you need to check back often while you save up your coins to be sure your desired purchase is still available. Sounds a lot like the real world huh?
Tips For Keeping Coins and Pet Points Coming Your Way
Collecting coins and pet points is not as difficult as it sounds. In fact, all you need to do is find your pet play dates. All pet owners want play dates for their pets. Why? They want to earn coins and pet points too! So don't be shy. Make friends and request play dates as often as you can.
There is a forum on Super Poke! Pets where you can post your name and Super Poke! Pet url for others to add you as a friend. A more aggressive approach, while you wait for others to respond to your play date request, is to click on any pet owner's avatar. In doing so you will arrive at their profile page where you can click on the Add As Friend button and ask them directly for play dates.
Also, if you belong to Facebook, My Space, or Hi5 you can do a group search using the keyword "Super Poke Pets". You'll be surprised at how many play dates you can arrange in just a few clicks.
Another way I earn coins and pet points is to visit my SuperPoke! Pet profile and click on the Friend tab. When the page loads I click on each of the pets and viola I earn 5 coins. Just think for every friend you have you can earn 5 coins just by clicking on their pet. Those 5 coins add up when your list of friends totals into the hundreds and I've come across some pet owners who have thousands of friends. With that many friends your sure to have a decent flow of daily traffic to your habitat Remember every friend coming to your habitat for a play date means 40 coins for you. And every habitat you visit for a play date means 20 more coins for you. In the end it's a win-win situation for everyone. If you're looking for a play date for your pet, so am I - click here.
My final tip, if you launch the game from Facebook, My Space or Hi5, is that you be sure to check out the SuperPoke! Pet website and visit your profile page often. There are literally thousand of play dates just waiting for you to make on the website that you won't have access to through your social networking sites. So, please do register with the website, using your Facebook, My Space or Hi5 log-in. The Super Poke! Pet forum is a feature only available to those pet owners who are registered at the site in addition to their social network site.

i want to know how to make your pet say something in a bubble
Can anyone exchange a pet for something else? I'm getting sick of my pet, always dirty, even when I clean him every SINGLE day! >:(
I can't access SPP's as of lastnight. It keeps putting me back to my scrapbook. i CAN'T DO anything! Grrrr. I log on through my myspace and than go to SPP's from there. It won't even let me click to go to the site =/ I tried from the Spp's site and can't log in with my email name and password. I can't even report the problem. My computer is clean and virus free. I don't know what the problem is. If anyone knows anything email me at angelicsins_x@yahoo.com thanks
yes it is free to play on myspace too. You can make purchases from the virtual pet store with the coins you earn from play dates. There is however the option to spend real cash in the pet store to purchase gold items if you wish.
is superpoke pet free on myspace.
what's your URL ...i can see if your pet is accesible on my computer and will check on him from time to time :-)
IT HAS BEEN 4 DAYS & I STILL CAN'T USE SPP. IS SOMETHING GOING ON SOMEWHERE? I SPEND A LOT OF TIME THERE & I MISS MY PET. I CAN'T ACCESS MY PET NO WAY. IT WON'T EVEN LET ME VIEW MY GUEST BOOK EITHER & THAT'S PART OF SLIDE. PLEASE HELP.
I'm seem to be having some trouble myself but I am able to access SPP by going through the SPP website...perhaps you may want to try that ... username.superpokepets.com (user name being your user name) Just a thought for you to try. I am assuming there is a problem with either facebook or SPP sites. I currently can't get on to facebook so that is why I think its some sort of problem with the two sites.
I love SPP but since 3days ago, I cannot even get the page to load, we have 3 computers in our home and none of them can get onto the site, so I can't even tell them of the problem. We have no viruses and our server is fine, I spent so much time with my pet buying habitat's and things to go with them, but now it's all gone to waste! I'm very sad =[
