The Super Smash Brothers franchise has blessed Nintendo for years. The simple gameplay coupled with extreme gameplay is the perfect mix for a fighting game that never carries a dull moment.

The newest installment which is said to be released December 3rd 2007 is surely going to amp the series up into a realm of unsurpassed combat and characters. Here is what to expect:

NEW CHARACTERS:

Pit: A warrior/bowmen from an old game, Kid Icarus. He looks like he has a mean meld of close combat with his daggers and bow skills which devastate the opponent from afar. His ability to fly for a limited period will surely introduce new aspects of gameplay and strategy.

Pokemon Trainer: This was a great move. Pokeball battles in the previous game were exciting but now you get to control either Squirtle, Ivysaur and Charizard yourself. Each Pokemon will use disparate techniques and abilities.

Ike: This characters from the Fire Emblem series has taken over for Marth and Roy, it seems. His range of sword-related attacks will make him deadly in close combat. He also has a special move called Eruption which can be charged up.

Snake: The biggest shock in the first screenings of SS Brawl was the arrival of Solid Snake from the Metal Gear Solid series. In Brawl, he will use grenades, his trusty missile launcher named Nikita which is controlled after it has been deployed, stealth and other sneaky tactics to surprise and detonate the enemy.

Zero Suit Samus: When using Samus, you will lose the Power Suit after a certain technique and be equipped with the Zero Suit. Once this is activated you are given a completely new type of fighter with new abilities and figthing style. She wields a whip and skin-tight clothing.

Meta Knight: An evil rival of Kirby from the Kirby franchise. He wears a mean mask and a long cape and still manages to keep the same sort of form his nemesis. He is round, short but not to be trifled with by any means. His sword is fast and can slice enemies up into the air and create havoc from anywhere on the battlefield.

Diddy Kong: This small, mischievous monkey has entered the fray. His battle tactics are to move about the battlefield erratically even using those famous Rocketbarrels. He wields the Peanut Popgun but make sure to hit the enemy with each bullet because missing isn't easily forgotten.

King Dedede: The boss of Kirby's Dream Land and king of Dream Land. He uses his large wooden mallet to crush opponents and high pounding attacks from above. This character is all about power. You can charge up his mallet to unleash a hard-hitting smash attack.

Lucas: This character seems to be replacing Ness. They look almost alike and their moves do carry their affinities. Lucas has PK Fire and the new PK Freeze. He made his debut in the game Mother 3 which was only released in Japan.

Sonic: The icon and Sega has made his way into the arena and is ready for battle. He relies on speed can overwhelm with his flurry of attacks and jumping prowess. His midair fighting style is unmatched and Sonic will use all of those famous moves which made him a superstar.

Wario: The villainous Wario is on his way to annoy every challenger. He can hop onto a motorbike and carve up the battlefield. Uniquely, Wario has a special move that definitely separates his way of warring from others. Wario Waft is an attack of severe flatulence that can be charged up. If you release the button quickly, not much will eventuate. But, if it is held to its climactic extent, an explosion of smelly proportions will engulf the battlefield.

RETURNING CHARACTERS:

Mario, Kirby, Pikachu, Peach, Ice Climbers, Yoshi, Fox, Samus, Zelda, Link, Donkey Kong and Bowser. There has not been any recent news concerning whether or not the other characters will be making an appearance in Brawl. Captain Falcon among some others will be surely missed if they omit them from the lineup.

Falco FTW.

STAGES:

Brawl looks like it will bless gamers with a plethora of stages to wreak havoc upon. From Meta Knight's Battleship to Pit's Skyworld, these stages look amazing and filed with exciting gameplay tweaks. Some more stages include the Bridge of Eldin from Zelda: Twilight Princess, the constantly changing Warioware arena, Delfino Plaza from Mario Sunshine, Pokemon Stadium 2. And, many others are all announced.

------
SS Brawl looks like it will carry the same appeal but offer tons of more gaming hours to entertain and keep groups of friends at each others necks. This game for the Nintendo Wii will generate massive sales and immediately become a classic if all goes well. Look for game December 3rd!
