Superbug: A Staph Infection on Mega Steroids

Pasiley
The deadly superbug is here, claiming the major headlines of late. Newspapers and many Internet sites around the world are carrying this message with good cause. Those Web sites are helping to spread the word of this dreadful superbug. Are they trustworthy?

Some Internet sites are promoting good information about this widespread superbug but there are many internet sites out here that are giving out the wrong information. This is such a shame.

This superbug is a drug resistant staph infection also called a MRSA infection. This superbug is known by many names including, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, Clostridium difficile, and Acinetobacter baumannii. MRSA is the most famous of the three, but all are mutations of a staph infection.

It does not matter how healthy you are either because this superbug is dangerous and does infect a person without regards to income or lifestyle. This superbug is a staph infection on mega steroids. It can make you mega sick.

The superbug is resistant to many types of antibiotics and it does not respond to the more common antibiotics that are one the market today to combat most types of infections. The superbug needs very strong antibiotics that can only be administered intravenously. Internet sites that claim aromatherapy will get rid of this superbug are simply wrong it is only some oils used in aromatherapy that help. The best internet site to go for correct information about this superbug is the CDC (center for diseases control).

I have also seen internet sites claiming this is a flesh eating disease, and that is not correct either. A staph infection such as the superbug does not eat flesh as many of you are thinking as you read this article. Once this superbug gets into a body it destroys the tissue that is infected, but it does not make your skin fall off as many envision from those misleading web sites.

This superbug was not caused by soldiers returning to the United States from the war in Iraq, although they brought back a different strain of staph infection, which is further mutating when it mingles with a different strain already in the United States.

This staph infection is caused by the staph bacteria getting into cuts, scrapes, and abrasions of our general population. This staph infection is passed only through contact with a surface such as skin, countertops, and equipment that has been contaminated with staph bacteria.

The best defense against contacting this superbug is by washing your hands often. If you have an open area such as a cut on your hand, an open pimple, or boil, cover it up. Do not share towels with anyone, and wear shower shoes in public showers. The superbug is not something you want because it is very hard to get rid of, and you could be more ill then you realize.
