Superlative Water Garden Companies in the Tampa Bay Area

Gwyn Guess
As you'd suspect, the Florida area is swarming with landscapers and all sorts of contractors with the constant building boom going on along its coasts. There's a lot of interest in water gardening there to, an interest that is really sweeping the entire country. Around the Tampa Bay area there are several well-respected contracting companies that have done extensive work in the general vicinity and beyond. I included a company out of Tallahassee too, because of the magnificent pictures they have put on their web site. People can browse these and see just how advanced the once sole feature of a pond has been rapidly expanded to include some striking additional options.

Aquafeatures in Tallahassee has something I haven't seen at most of the aqua suppliers in my town-"pondless" waterfalls. Just a few years ago all anyone could have built was a nice pond, but that's changed. The pictures on this very interesting web site make me want to run down there right now and order one. These contractors can make waterfalls, streams, ponds and all sorts of water gardens. The site is evidently new and doesn't have any links for ordering or browsing pictures and history yet, but customers can just call Buz Ireland at 850-562-5797 to get directions and obtain some more details about their services. People in Tallahassee will be able to just run down and browse, but I'd call first.

Rock Castles actually has two locations: one in Kentucky and the other in Avon Park, FL, near Tampa. This company constructs all kinds of water features: "We construct waterfalls, pondless waterfalls, streams, ponds up to around 5 to 20 feet wide and long as you have room for." They do give free estimates in the Carolinas, Kentucky and Tennessee with pond and waterfall features exceeding $4,000, but anyone in the Tampa area should certainly try to see the local business and compare their services and pricing with the other water garden landscapers. Contact them at 863-257-4068.

Bayscape is "Florida's One-stop contractor for virtually all your outdoor living spaces needs." These folks have a slick web site and they provide services in landscaping for ponds, unusual water features, streams as well as irrigation needs and ambient lighting for any completed water garden to show it off at night! There are plenty of testimonials on this site from satisfied prior customers. It is actually their partner, Aquascapes that is responsible for all the water feature work. I can bet they have a hefty picture album and plenty of referrals people can check out too. They can also be reached by email at

Munro Landscaping Company provides landscaping and water garden installation and services to the Tampa area. They are located in Homasassa, a few miles north of Tampa, just off Highway 19. These people both install and provide supplies for ponds and water features: "underlayment, liners, skimmers, filters, pumps, hoses, underwater lighting, rocks &gravel, fish and aquatic plants." Not only this, but they also will provide maintenance service for homeowners or businesses. Their store also has small, pre-cast waterfalls for people who can't handle a larger job but still want to enjoy the peace and serenity of the sound of falling water. For those who already have a water garden, their shop has a large stock of plants and staff to instruct people on how to use them in the most ecological manner. Call them at 621-1944.
