"This isn't funny Dean. The Voice Says I'm almost out of minutes!" - Castiel
In episode 504, The End, Castiel and Sam try to talk through a cell phone. A concept almost entirely lost on the angel. Modern technology is an adjustment Castiel never quiet makes in future episodes.
"Try New Mexico, I hear he's on a tortilla." - Dean
"No, he's not on any flatbread." - Castiel
In episode, 502, Good God Ya'll, Castiel tries to find God. When Dean cracks a joke, Castiel misunderstands and responds rather bluntly. Throughout all of his appearances on "Supernatural," Castiel never quiet learns the concept of telling and joke, but always manages to make his own by responding in a dry, confused tone.
"I found a liquor store." - Castiel
"And?" - Sam
"I drank it." - Castiel
In episode 516, 99 Problems, Castiel appears to Sam drunk. Drinking is one of the few human indulgences Castiel seems to understand - and he excels at it. Throughout the rest of the episode, we see Castiel stumble, smart off and loose his train of thought. While Castiel may be an angel, he's certainly a snarky drunk.
"I don't understand. Why do you want me to say my name?" (Cue the sound of buttons being pushed into the phone) - Castiel
In episode 516, 99 Problems, Sam tries to call Castiel and gets his voicemail. Where most people leave a short recording of their name, we hear Castiel try to reason with the automated command voice, fail, and push several buttons on the phone until he hits the right one and ends the recording.
"Cas, it's Dean. Yeah, Room 31 C, basement level, St. James Medical Center." - Dean
"I'm there now." - Castiel
"I see that." - Dean
"I'm going to hang up now." - Castiel
"Right." -Dean
In episode 514, My Bloody Valentine, Dean calls Castiel only to have him appear seconds later. Castiel, despite seeing himself as a higher being, always manages to use his manners - usually at odd times and in strange, very blunt, ways.
