Just recently I was searching through the world wide web on some information regarding season three of Supernatural. It amazes me how much information is actually available on the currently in production season. I know it must be difficult for any major television show, or movie for that matter, to keep the episode plots and developments a secret. Literally hundreds of people are involved in making the show and information is bound to leak out. I am a huge fan of the Supernatural series and I couldn't be more thrilled with what I found out about season three.
The first new development in season three is the expansion of the regular cast. Buddy TV states that Supernatural will be adding two full time females as counterparts to Sam and Dean's characters. One will be a hunter and the other will be a mercenary. Both of the females will make the boys look like amateurs. This information was released by TV guide's Micheal Ausiello who said, "One's a mercenary, the other's a Hunter - a Hunter so ruthless that I hear she's going to make Sam and Dean look like the Hardy Boys." It has been rumored that the two actresses are Katie Cassidy-daughter of 70's teen idol, David Cassidy and Lauren Cohan. After the release of the latest plot development, some fans are unsure of the effect the addition to the cast. Some people feel that it will cause a down slide in viewers. Most of the Supernatural fans are female, and might actually lose interest in the show due to the new female counterparts. I personally think that adding two females that kick butt can't be a bad idea. As long as the boys still take the spotlight and some episodes still focus solely on their interactions, I think it will be a win-win situation. Through season one and two, both boys were without female relations for the most part, due to their moving around from city to city chasing after demons and vengeful spirits. It will be nice to see the boys having some interaction with women who share their interests and understand their occupations. It will definitely show a side of the boys that I would love to see, especially if these girls show them up from time to time with their ghost hunting skills.
Spoilers have been released on episodes one through five of season three's Supernatural. The titles of these episodes are as follows:
Episode 3.01-The Magnificent Seven-Ruby(played by Katie Cassidy joins the hunt after Hell's gate has been opened. Supernatural takes an interesting twist on the seven deadly sins. Seven demons-based off of the Seven Deadly Sins have escaped and they all have names. I am sure you can figure out on your own what their names are. Two more hunters join in on the hunt, a married couple-Isaac and Tamara-before realizing they are being hunted by someone or something.
Episode 3.02-The Kids are Alright- A big twist concerning Ruby-Just recently added to the cast is introduced in this episode. Rumors circulate that Dean's character may have a child as the result of an old fling. He goes to visit and realizes that the young boy very much resembles him when he was younger. Sam and Dean hunt the "changlings" that are out to kill women and their children. Bela-the second female addition is introduced in this episode. She is rumored to be a love interest to Dean.
Episode 3.03- Bad Day at Black Rock- The demon hunting community is in an uproar after hearing of the Winchester Boys opening of the Hell's Gate. Sam is kidnapped by a fellow hunter. Gordon, who implicates Sam for the opening of Hell's gate is brutally beaten in this episode. Sam says that after his "death" he has lost his psychic abilities. Dean gets into a fray with a thief and gains the upper hand.
Episode 3.04- Sin City- This episode Dean is confronted by a very attractive demon who admires Dean for sacrificing his own life to save his brothers. Dean disappears with the attractive female demon, Casey. Sam must go on the hunt to bring him back.
Episode 3.05-Bedtime Stories- This episode is an interesting take on the "Snow White" fairy tale written by the Brothers Grimm. A beautiful young girl by the name of Callie was poisoned by her evil stepmother and is trapped in a coma. The young girl is wreaking havoc on people through her dreams, coma like state as her father reads her tales from the Brother's Grimm fairy tales. Unknowingly, as her father reads her the twisted tales, he fuels her desire for carnage and mayhem as she lays helplessly in a coma. The boys must find a way to stop the killings and bring Callie peace.Sam sneaks out during this episode while Dean is sleeping and he faces the demon at the crossroads with the Colt. She admits that there is someone higher than her in control and Sam kills the possessed human with the Colt.
So far Season three of Supernatural has me hooked and it hasn't even started. If these first five episodes are any indicator of the rest of the season, I will be absolutely thrilled, as I believe most adoring fans will.
