1. Randy Orton: In my opinion Orton has not done much this year. He has had countless title shots but came up short every time. He was unable to defeat Jack Swagger for the World Heavyweight Championship at Extreme Rules. He was unable to become the new WWE Champion at Fatal-4-Way. At SummerSlam he picked up the victory over Sheamus; However, the title did not change hands due to disqualification. Orton was finally able to capture the WWE Championship at Night of Champions. He remained Champion until The Miz cashed in his Money In The Bank Briefcase on November 22nd.
2. Edge: Edge's major accomplishment this year was winning the Royal Rumble on January 31, 2010. By winning the rumble Edge guaranteed himself a title shot at Wrestle Mania, but was unable to defeat Chris Jericho and become the new World Heavyweight Champion. Edge also had another opportunity to become Champion at Fatal-4-Way, but once again he failed to pick up the victory.
3. Rey Mysterio: Mysterio started the year off well by earning himself a title shot at the Royal Rumble, but he was unable to defeat The Undertaker. A month later at Elimination Chamber, Mysterio had another shot to become Champion; However, he feel short once again when he was eliminated by John Morrison. Before Mysterio would earn his next Championship match he defeated CM Punk forcing Punk to shave his head. It was shortly after that at Fatal-4-Way when Mysterio was able to become World Heavyweight Champion. Mysterio's reign was short lived as Kane wasted no time in cashing in his Money In The Bank Briefcase. Since than Mysterio has been unable to win back the Championship.
4. John Cena: Cena started the year off strong by capturing the WWE Championship at Elimination Chamber; However, Cena's title regin was short lived. Immediately after his match Mr. McMahon forced him to defend his Championship against Batista. Cena lost and earned himself one of shortest WWE Championship reigns in history. Cena was eager to win back the Championship and did so at Wrestle Mania XXVI. Cena remained Champion until Fatal-4-Way where he lost the Championship to Sheamus. Cena was recently fired by Wade Barrett for not helping him win the Championship.
5. Kane: Kane has been busy in 2010. He won the Money In The Bank ladder match to earn himself the Money In The Bank Briefcase, which guarantees a title shot anytime. Kane wasted no time and cashed in his briefcase later that night earning himself the World Heavyweight Championship. Kane has remained Champion since than defeating Rey Mysterio, The Undertaker, and Edge along the way.
6. The Miz: Back on October 5th 2009, The Miz captured the United States Championship. He held the Championship until May 17th 2010 when he lost to Bret Hart. A few months later he recaptured the Championship by defeating R-Truth on June 14th 2010, until he lost it again on September 19th 2010, to Daniel Bryan. The Miz held the United States Championship for approximately 9 months in 2010. During that time The Miz also held both the WWE and World Tag Team Championships. On February 8th 2010, The Miz and Big Show captured both titles by defeating DX. They held those Championships until April 26th 2010. In one year those are a lot of accomplishments for any superstar, but The Miz was not ready to stop. On July 18th 2010, The Miz won the Money In The Bank Ladder Match. By winning this match he earned himself the Money In The Bank Briefcase. The superstar who wins the Briefcase is allowed to cash it in for a title shot anytime they want. After waiting a little over four months The Miz cashed in his Briefcase for a match against Randy Orton. The Miz defeated Orton on November 22nd 2010 to become the new WWE Champion."
As you can tell for the facts above The Miz would appear to be the most deserving of this award. He has accomplished for more than any superstar this year. For that reason I am not found of the WWE Universe selecting 'Superstar Of The Year'. I think its highly unlikely that the fans will select a heel like The Miz or Kane as 'Superstar Of The Year'. That puts both of them at a huge disadvantage even if they are more deserving of the award. They may as well change the name of 'Superstar Of The Year' to 'Fan Favorite Of The Year'. That way the WWE Universe can select who they feel deserves the award and WWE can present 'Superstar Of The Year' to the superstar whom they feel is most deserving.

Cena will win, even though Miz is more deserving.
I agree with your conclusion. Good read!
