Supplies for Your Child's Classroom

It's that time of year again. A time that kids dread and parents often look forward to. It's back to school time. A lot of classrooms nowadays require that supplies be sent for the class. Many teachers pay for their own school supplies out of their own pocket. Oftentimes teachers may make requests as to what they need, but if they don't, you can still help out. Here are few ideas as to what to send with your child.

Baggies

Baggies are helpful for organizing just about everything. From extra markers and crayons to stray art supplies, these can be extremely beneficial. They are a cheap item too, so you can send a lot with your child without having to worry too much about cost.

Pencil Sharpeners

This is an item that always seems to be in short supply. Most classrooms have one pencil sharpener, and it never makes it through the whole year without breaking once or twice. Handheld pencil sharpeners usually run from about $1-4, so you can buy a couple for the class to share. This will make test time much easier.

Tissues

A lot of schools require that each child bring in at least one box of tissues now, but if your school doesn't, this could be a great classroom addition. Cold and flu season usually hits school pretty hard, so it's nice to have extra tissues around.

Hand Sanitizer

This is a relatively cheap way to keep germs from spreading and help out your local school. Kids often get into messes, and spread germs easily, so it's good to have sanitizer around in those instances.

Dry Erase Supplies

Most classrooms nowadays have dry erase boards, but often don't have the markers or erasers to properly use them. One box of markers can last quite a long time, so this is a relatively simple donation.

Stickers and Art Supplies

This is especially for elementary school kids, but stickers can be a fun way to reward a student. Stickers, along with other art supplies, can be great teaching tools and allow the children to have fun at the same time.

Extra School Supplies

Every kid forgets a pencil or paper once or twice a school year. An extra box of pencils or extra paper will help a teacher out immensely if they have that to offer to a student when he or she forgets something they need.
