But Everman Animal Shelter's puppy population is growing and so are its needs.
The agency is in need of black wire crates for pups so they can go to adoption events and the more they have, the more dogs can attend.
"The good news, for the puppies, is that they are usually the first to be adopted," says staff. "Puppy season has not even gotten into full swing and we are getting them in almost every day."

In unrelated animal news, Sharkarosa Wildlife Ranch in Pilot Point, TX has new babies to come see and will be open over spring break March 17-19, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and to the public March 20 at 10 a.m.
Additions include newborn baby kangaroos, sloths, and camels.

"Butterflies in the Garden" continues through April 4 at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden in Fort Worth, TX for an admission price of $6-$10.00. The address is 3220 Botanic Garden Road.
Fort Woof Dog Park holds a "Fort Woof Greyhound Round-up" every Saturday and Sunday from 7-9 a.m. where a group of about 10-15 greyhounds and their owners meet for fun-o-plenty.
The park also has "Fort Woof After Dark" at 7 p.m. on Thursdays. The regular event was established as a way to let people know the park is open and lighted at night and to make sure that there is a fun group of people and dogs there when you arrive.

The 24th Genesis Awards, sponsored by the Humane Society of the U.S. (HSUS) will be held March 20, 6 p.m. at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, CA. Tickets for the event start at $350 individually and up to $50,000 for a ten-person table.
The Oscar-award winner "Up" has been nominated for an award along with "Hotel For Dogs" and "Men Who Stare At Goats."
