Support ALC (Aids LifeCycle) by Reading Articles on Associated Content

Each year, thousands of bicyclists gather together in San Francisco, California to take on the challenge of the 7 day, 545 mile bike ride. The trip begins in San Francisco and ends in Los Angeles. The purpose of this ride is to raise money and awareness of HIV and AIDS.

With the help of Associated Content (AC), we are working actively to help support the cause of the ALC and their participants. We are Contributors of articles for AC and over the next several months, we will be writing various articles on the ALC ride and the amazing riders. We will also be submitting pictures and videos as well. This is the first of ALC related materials which will be published on AC.

Reading the articles will help...

Each article submitted earns a "Performance Payment". This simply means that for every new person who reads the article, AC pays a small amount for that article. All of the earnings we receive for ALC related articles and submitted materials will be used to sponsor rider(s) of the annual ALC ride.

How you can help...

Helping us with this cause is simple. Just read the articles and view the pictures and videos we submit. Donations are not required although if you wish to make a donation, instructions are provided at the end of this article. To help, simply follow these instructions:

1. Read every article we publish, and view the pictures and videos we submit.
2. Share our articles with everyone you know... you can copy and paste the website address in your browser's address bar and post it to your FaceBook, Twitter, MySpace and other social media. Email the website address to people you know and ask them to take a minute to read or view the link and to forward the email.

Why I am committed to helping...

About 18 years ago, a dear friend of mine was affected by HIV/AIDS. There are many misconceptions about HIV and AIDS. One misconception is that only people of certain race or sexual preference are affected by this disease... I am here to tell you, everyone could be affected!

My friend was a happily married Caucasian woman with two beautiful children. She suffered from anemia and while she was pregnant with her daughter, she had to undergo a blood transfusion. The blood she received was infected with HIV and so she became infected. Her daughter was born with AIDS. :-(...

AIDS is now a pandemic. In 2007, it was estimated that 33.2 million people lived with the disease worldwide, and that AIDS killed an estimated 2.1 million people, including 330,000 children.

It is sad, but there is hope... but we need everyone's help. All we are asking is you read our articles and share them with others. The more who read, the more we help... it's that simple.
