Support Breast Cancer Awareness With Pink Home Goods

Drew Taylor
Many beauty products prominently participate in breast cancer awareness campaigns, but shoppers can also buy a variety of home accents and household products that raise awareness and funds. Check out these five products.

1. Pastel Pink Butter Bell Crock by L. Tremain

This decorative butter bell keeps one stick of butter fresh and spreadable. L.Tremain is donating $2.50 for every pink crock purchased to the Living Beyond Breast Cancer Foundation. Living Beyond Breast Cancer offers support and education in a variety of ways to help breast cancer live longer and enjoy better quality of life.

2. Teleflora's Pink Hope and Courage Bouquet
This cheery bouquet features pink roses, pink spray roses, pink Asiatic lilies and white daisy spray chrysanthemums accented with assorted greenery. Available in three sizes starting at $49.95, the Pink Hope and Courage Bouquet includes a pink satin vase.

Teleflora is donating 15% of the purchase price of this item to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation whose goal is to prevent and ultimately cure breast cancer by supporting research and raising awareness.

3. Brillo Steel Wool Soap Pads and Sponges
These little steel wool soap pads are an inexpensive and practical way to clean grill grates before the next backyard barbecue. Brillo will make a donation to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, a minimum of $25,000, up to $50,000, when shoppers buy specially marked products.

4. Presto 6-Quart Stainless Steel Pressure Cooker
Pressure cookers make it possible to cook food in less time than conventional stovetop cooking. The Presto 6-Quart Stainless Steel Pressure Cooker (stock number 01365) costs approximately $60. Presto pledges to donate $5 to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation for each purchase.

5. For the Girls Windchimes
Add some whimsy to the porch or soothing sounds to the garden with these pale pink windchimes. The 25-inch windchimes, $49, and 34-inch windchimes, $65, both feature five tubes and a wooden pendant accent with the phrase "for the girls" printed in script.

QMT Windchimes is donating 50% of the purchase price of each For the Girls windchime to a nonprofit working toward curing and preventing breast cancer. The company supports different organizations and chose The Breast Cancer Research Foundation in June 2011 with a minimum donation of $10,000.

Breast Cancer Support Shopping Tips
With the growing selection of pink products, it is important to see what type of donations the companies offer. Check the product label or company website for additional information about which organization the company supports and how much money it donates. Some companies do not donate anything unless customers mail in proof purchase. Others donate based on the sale of specially marked packages.
