What a closed minded remark, I thought, but then I realized why someone would say that to me. After all, many of our troops are on the front lines in Iraq, and I am against the Iraq War. I am pro-peace not pro-war.
However, being pro-peace does not disqualify me from supporting our troops. I wholeheartedly support our armed forces, but I do not support many of the situations in which our government places our troops. So many times, it seems our government's agenda is more important than the lives that are lost. Granted, it is a risk our troops know they take, but I still don't see why our troops have to be placed in such precarious and no-win sitations like what is occuring in Iraq.
The bottom line is I don't believe our troops have to be thrown into a foreign place for no particular reason other than to make sure our country has enough oil. Saving lives is much more important than securing one type of energy source. Our troops deserve better treatment, and I'm a true supporter of keeping our troops alive and well.
Remember, peace does not produce war, and war does not produce peace.

Post a CommentWow, I have had the same question asked to me, and had the same answer (just not as elequently put) In the Bible it says there is a time for war, and a time for peace. I guess our Government just doesn't know when it's time for either one ; maybe they are having some strange type of dyslexia...How long did it take to get help to our fellow Americans in Louisiana, HOW long did they wait to decide to send help...How long did it take to send our young men and women into harms way in another country??? Someones parents must not have told them " that you have to get yourself straght before you can help straighten others problems! " Love you, Amy
AMEN!!!!
