Surf Dog Ricochet to the Rescue, Once Again

The PAWsome Pup Raises $11,000 for Brain-damaged Girl

Surf Dog Ricochet, the SURFice dog who, when she isn't winning surf contests, inspires people around the world raising awareness and funds for human/animal causes, has done it again.

This time, the precious pooch teamed up with Endless Pools, to make the family of a brain-injured 2-year-old's dream come true!

Finnley "Finnie" Messer was born with brain damage due to oxygen being cut off to her brain during delivery. She was only expected to live one-to-72 hours, but she would not give up, and miraculously, survived.

Now, however, two years later, the brain damage caused at birth has led to cerebral palsy, seizures, and vision impairment. Unable to walk or talk, the cerebral palsy also causes painful muscle tightening. But, as her parents have discovered, the pain is reduced drastically when she's in a pool, where she's able to freely move her arms and legs.

Up until recently, the Messers were using the community pool, as well as those of close friends, but they've been saving to purchase a therapeutic swimming pool of their own. That way, Finnie can get the daily therapy she needs. But, as we all know, that can be quite costly, in this case: the tune of $11,000.

Enter Ricochet.

When the 2-year-old Golden Retriever heard about Finnie's dilemma, Ricochet got busy doing what she does best (besides surfing, of course) - fundraising. And in less than four weeks, the PAWsome doggie was able to raise a good amount of money.

But not quite enough. So Ricochet called Endless Pools to see if they'd be willing to help her make the Messer's dream come true.

Endless Pools, Inc was founded in 1988 to create a product that allows individuals to experience the benefits of water exercise and therapy in the comfort and privacy of their own homes. Their company is dedicated to excellence in design and manufacturing, as well as courteous and comprehensive customer service. Endless Pool's goal is to build and deliver an exercise machine that can be assembled easily, that offers an infinite array of installation design solutions, and requires minimal maintenance for the pool owner. They endeavor to build Endless Pools that take up a smaller footprint, use less water, require fewer chemicals and consume less energy than traditional pools do.

Upon hearing of Ricochet's past achievements, Endless Pools didn't hesitate to help with the project, providing a state-of-the art pool at a substantial discount. With the discount of Endless Pools and money generated Ricochet's donors, the Messers only had to come up with $2560, which they had in an account from previous fundraising.

Finnie and her family's dream of a therapy pool is now a reality thanks to the generosity of Endless Pools, and Ricochet's donors.

"The pool is going to allow Finnie to get the physical therapy she so desperately needs," said Finnie's mom, Care. "Thank you so much. I'm so grateful."

Ricochet has now raised more than $48,800 in the last 10 months. She now has more than 12.000 facebook fans and continues to inspire people all over the world with her positive energy, her charitable lifestyle and of course, her BITCH'n prowess upon the waves.
