Surfside Sports Surfing Shop in Costa Mesa, CA

Socal is famous for its chill culture, fabulous weather, and great beach atmosphere. Surfing is ingrained in much of this and there is a plethora of surf shops for surfing fans to visit throughout all of SoCal. I visit Newport Beach quite often and one place that sticks out for board sports, including surfing, is Surfside Sports, in Costa Mesa.

Skimboards, Surfboards, skimboards, skateboards-Surfside Sports has it all. I was really impressed with the array of items for boardies that Surfside Sports has to offer. From what I have heard, Surfside started out in Southern California as a traditional surfboard store. However, since then, they have branched out to cover the other other board sports that are just as, if not more so, popular in SoCal. Some customers have noticed that Surfside's surfing collection as shrunk as a result of this branching out, a possible downside to this. Still, they maintain a large selection of surfing gear. Sale prices are supposed to be really good at Surfside Sports and their staff is known for being helpful and knowledgeable.

Prices are fairly affordable for most surfers and Surfside Sports also has an online store for those unable to get to their "brick and mortar" location. With free 3 day shipping on orders over $49, their website has some sweet deals. Check it out at http://www.surfsidemailorder.com.

Surfside Sports is located in Costa Mesa, California, on East 17th Street. For those unfamiliar with the area, Costa Mesa is right next to popular Newport Beach, an area frequented by tourists, anglers, and of course, surfers. Body boarders and skim boarders also hit Newport Beach quite often. I have witnessed a few run-ins between fans of the different sports, esepcially at the "best" locations on busy days. Newport Beach has the awesome "Wedge" surfing spot, near the big North Jetty. Parking can be a bit of a problem at Newport, especially on busy days, but I have always been able to find a spot on the peninsula.
