Surprise! Spring Has Arrived
I hear a sound and open my eyes.
I look outside in total surprise.
Where just yesterday was ice and snow
Today I see flowers starting to grow.
Trees and bushes sprouting new life
Bursting out in colors of pink and white.
The hills and valleys are coming alive
Leaving no doubt that Spring has arrived.

Surprise! Surprise! Spring is here!
Bringing with it a sense of cheer.
New growth, new life, a fresh new start
Spring just seems to lift one's heart.
Birds are singing a happy song
Making it impossible not to sing along.
You can't help but feel so totally alive
Leaving no doubt that Spring has arrived.
