Surprise, Surprise, You're Having a Baby

People may be "surprised" to find out that half of the babies born are not planned, but are "surprises." If you found out that you are going to have a baby don't worry, nature allows a mother a whole nine months to figure out what it is that she needs to do. Once a woman finds out that she is pregnant there is a lot to think about. One of the first things that you will think about is how to tell friends and family. This isn't always an easy decision, sometimes people respond negatively to an unplanned baby. By keeping a positive outlook on the situation you will help the people you tell to do the same. Something that you may be worried about is how you can possibly afford all that you will need for a baby. Surprisingly having a baby can be a lot less expensive then you are led to believe by the commercialism that comes with having a baby. One of the biggest things that you will think about a lot during your pregnancy is if you are ready for such a responsibility. With the many things that you need to do to prepare for a baby it definitely helps to start getting things together as soon as possible.

First of all, in order to take care of the baby, a mother needs to take good care of herself. It may not feel like it but there is so much that you as a new mom for your baby while he or she is in the womb. Eating right is the key during pregnancy, nutrition is so very important. There are certain foods that are essential for your baby's development. Appropriate exercise and the proper amount of rest needed is crucial as well. Something that people may forget is how important it is to be in a good head space and have a good attitude. As stressful as it can get for the mom-to-be, staying positive and doing things that make her happy help the baby from being too stressed out in the womb.

Family and friends are generally eager to help when there is a baby on the way. It is an instinctual urge that people have in this exciting time. The parents taking all the responsibility of getting everything for the baby is almost never the case because of people wanting to help out. Something that helps both the parents to be and the people who want to help them are baby registries. Nearly every major store has them and they allow moms and dads to politely mention what they need for their baby and also often prevent the duplication of gifts and receiving gifts they do not want and will not use. Making a list of everything wanted is helpful too, just so nothing is forgotten.

Once the parents have everything needed for the baby, it is pretty much just waiting for the little one to come. Sometimes when a pregnant mom-to-be sees another mom with her baby, she will get very anxious for her baby to be born. So it isn't always easy remembering to enjoy the bonding time that baby and mommy have during the pregnancy. Even after being able to kiss, hug and hold the baby, a mom will miss those little movements that were felt over the months before. These 9 months may feel like the longest 9 months of a mom's life but before she knows it, that bundle of joy is in her arms. Remembering all of the things that have to be done can be a little overwhelming but just taking one day at a time can make a huge difference. Lists always help in this situation. It's a good idea for the mother to really enjoy this special time with her baby.
