One day after the big story was Randy Moss's return to Foxboro, which ultimately lead to a 28-18 Patriots victory and 8 stitches for Brett Favre, the Vikings made their biggest noise when they waived Randy Moss after just four games.
The move follows Moss gave a strange post-game press conference, where Moss discussed not only his recent $25,000 fine for not speaking to the media, but also a moment where he took Vikings coach Brad Childress to task. Moss was upset that Childress and his staff apparently ignored Moss's advice on how to handle the New England offense, a point that Childress contends.
However, the move may also have been a response to some of Moss's play on the field during the game, specifically a pass play in the third quarter where New England was called for pass interference on Moss. On the play, Moss was intentionally tripped up by Brandon Merriweather and rightfully flagged for the infraction. However, Moss allowed the ball to drop, which is did just two feet from him, well within his range to catch it, just a foot from the goal line.
Just halfway through the NFL season, and Randy Moss, one of the most prolific receivers in the history of the game will be looking for a new employer, but it will come at an interesting price.
