If you're a coffee or tea drinker, then you probably have quite a couple cups that have brown stains on the inside from that time you accidentally left your tea or coffee sitting there for too many hours. Come to think of it, your coffee pot and teapot are probably pretty stained too.
Toothpaste works great for cleaning those hard to scrub stains out of mugs and coffee pots. The abrasive bits and baking soda in the toothpaste do a much better job scrubbing than dish detergent could ever hope to do. And unlike other harsh chemicals that you would be wary using on your dishes, toothpaste is completely safe, because you put it in your mouth every day. Plus, if you don't get it completely off, the worst that will happen is it'll leave a little bit of a minty toothpaste tinge...
Toothpaste is also useful for cleaning your silver. The same way that toothpaste will scrub out your coffee pot, it will also get spots and residue off of your silver for a clean, polished look.
You can also use it for cleaning the sink or the counter, both of which can become quickly stained just from regular kitchen use. Any stains will be quickly scrubbed away, without fear of using dangerous chemicals in a food-preparation environment.
A lesser known use of toothpaste is that it can be used to remove crayon from painted walls. This may seem like an odd thing to happen, but if you have small children and crayons, there is a high likelihood that some of that artwork will end up on the walls. If you have crayon "art" on your walls, you can remove it by rubbing the area with toothpaste and a wet rag. Afterwards, just wipe again with water to get rid of any remaining residue.
Toothpaste can also be used to polish glass light shades, the microwave, the floor, or virtually anything else. Just put a little dab of toothpaste on a wet rag and rub away the grime.
Those are some ways you can use toothpaste in the kitchen. It is easy to use and cheap. And the best part is you can rest at ease, knowing you aren't using a toxic cleaning product in the kitchen.
