Surrealist Cubism in Verbal Form:
(Subtitle: Remembering Missed Mothers)

No asylum remains, but the asylum
of your knees, no alter to hold
the sacrificial self, but the alter
of your mind. You are all he has known,
loved; you are the myriads he has known
not - and despised.

The goddess
and a daemon created
beauty. Beauty became besotted
with beauty - bled madness. Madness
mated with covetousness; begot a suffering
of longing which slaughtered an idea;

Your heart. Your heart your
heart; his words the dagger; his tongue
the hands which inexorably drew the two
together until nothing was left but to wallow
in love's carnage, to weave splintered sanity
with the threads of want; to weave the cloak
of penitence, and remembrance.

He worships silently now at the alter
of your banishment and remembers
the asylum he once knew.

:: chuckle :: if nothing else, we could call this a gluttony of alliterations.
