Nobody pities a poor old lady and if they did she would not be suffering in poverty. But everybody would respects a poor old lady that tried to lift herself out of her condition. An old lady standing on a street corner selling newspapers or standing at the entrance to a public park or zoo selling balloons would be admired. That admiration alone would lead to an increase in sales and a good days pay.
The first step that has to be taken is to get your self a good location to sell your product. One of the best places for you to sell newspapers is at a traffic light. The motorists will admire you for your ambition and buy your newspaper or throw a buck into the coffee container you hold in your hand. At the end of the day you will have over a hundred bucks in your money belt. If you prefer standing in front of an office building that has no newspaper stand, that can also be very profitable. Selling balloons is another winner. Parents that are taking their children to the park or zoo will also admire your ambition and even if they don't want a balloon will throw a buck into your coffee cup. On a warm day you will return with over one hundred dollars.
The key to your success will be in not only being a poor old lady, but looking like one. Put on your oldest and raggedy looking clothes when going to your location. Never wear makeup or hear coloring to make you look younger. If possible bleach your hair to give it an aged appearance. The worse you look the more profitable will be your business. The police will never bother a poor old lady looking to survive. They will let you stand where ever you please.
The best survivors are not those that are the fittest but those that fit in the best. As a poor old lady trying to survive you will fit in better than most people and will no longer be poor.

Post a CommentI like your spunk, your ideas are great many are quite practical. I've seen many of your ideas in practice. People in similar positions sell newspapers at intersections in Tuscon. When I lived there I alway bought from them as at least they were making an honest effort. Someone like that will always keep the change when I make a purchase.
