Surviving a Day

A True Experience of a Little Girl Who was Abused

Adopted One
Let me tell you a little story
Some you will believe, some will make you shudder
A little girl lies sleeping on her bed
A bed of wood, a shelf in a shed
Cold and alone with spiders for company
Icicles clinging to the window
The light of the moon her only source of safety
She lies there, shivering to the tunes in her head
Will they, wont they. Will they, wont they.
Heart beating, leaping into her mouth
Will anyone hear her cries
Does anyone hear her sighs
PLEASE LET ME DIE!!!!

The footsteps she hears, closer, closer
Heart beats faster, faster
Pounding to the beat closer, closer
Senses intensify, smells become stronger
Sounds louder, shivering, shaking
Thoughts racing, Hide! Hide! Hide!
She floats away.

See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil
God knows all, he knows and says its ok
I know that's true, they told me so.
The glisten of the buckle catches her eye
The shock of the strike takes her breath away,
The screams of rage as she squirms
Become louder, louder, louder

The rage does stop, no more blows
Echoes in the air, silent tears, silent fears
The door closes, the bolt is drawn with a clang
The little girl floats back down to her being
Huddled on the wooden bench, her bed
Heart beats calming, sobs residing
Another day is done
This little girl survived another day.
