Here are some real emergency financial survival suggestions on what you can do to save yourself from running out of money until you can locate another paying job for yourself. These are actually techniques that I have used to save myself during an emergency financial survival situation in the real world while being unemployed and looking for a job in La Grande, Oregon.
First, try and cut back on any immediate expenses that you absolutely can survive without every month, including your cell phone service, home telephone service, home cable television service, home Internet service, personal transportation costs and regular money spent on food every month.
In order to access the Internet for free every day, you can always use the free public Internet service at your local public library or Internet café to surf the World Wide Web and check your email messages.
You really can save a lot of money by canceling your monthly cell phone and regular home telephone service every month. You can start saving money by using a pre-paid phone card and a pay phone at a gas station or a shopping mall to make local and long distant calls.
You can even use Yahoo Voice Instant Messenger to make PC-to-PC calls from your computer to another person's computer, which is free and a lot cheaper then using a cell phone or a pay phone. Yahoo also allows you to sign up for a free Yahoo telephone number so that other people can use a regular telephone or cell phone to call your computer and leave a voice mail message. Then you can either use your computer at the library, or a pre-paid calling card and a pay phone, to return your phone calls.
By canceling your regular cell phone or home telephone service and using either a pay phone, Yahoo Voice Instant Messenger, or a free Yahoo telephone number, you can eliminate your monthly cell phone or regular home telephone expenses every month until you locate another paying job.
Another great way to cut monthly expenses until you find a paying job is to place yourself on government assisted Food Stamps and stop spending your regular cash on the food you buy at a grocery store every month. If you are single and unemployed, using Food Stamps, instead of regular cash from your checking account to purchase food every month, is a very smart way to save some extra money until you find another paying job.
Food Stamps can be a real life saver and you will be very thankful you signed up for them. Signing up for Food Stamps is free and it is also a very simple and easy process, which you can do at your local Department of Human Services where you currently live.
Also, whenever you are shopping for your monthly groceries, always use newspaper grocery coupons to help purchase your food and locate great cost saving deals to help expand your monthly food budget.
Another way to cut back on your monthly expenses until you can locate another paying job for yourself is to move out of your current home and live in a place that is a lot less expensive every month. This is particularity helpful if you are single, unemployed, have no pets and are renting an apartment every month.
If you are single and renting an apartment every month, then try and locate a place in your town where you can live for free with a friend or family member until you can locate a paying job and then start renting another apartment all over again. You can also try renting a single room in somebody else's home by the month or see if you can get a good discount on renting a single hotel room by the month in your town.
Another good cost saving idea to help save yourself some money is to turn down the heat inside your home and use blankets, coats and hats to help keep yourself warm, if necessary, to help reduce heating expenses inside your home. I have used this technique myself during the winter months while living in Northeastern Oregon.
Although it was often freezing cold inside my apartment during the night, and I had to use blankets, coats and hats to help keep myself warm while I slept in my bed, I did save an extra ten dollars a month in heating expenses for my home, which helped me a lot in saving some extra money for my checking account.
Another monthly expense that can be eliminated every month is your home cable television service. Anybody can survive every month without home cable television service. I have often lived without home cable television service for years and survived just fine without it. By stopping your monthly home cable television service, you can save an extra thirty to forty dollars a month or more in expenses.
Once you have stopped paying for your monthly home cable television service, you can then go to the home of a friend or family member to watch your favorite cable television shows.
Even though this next idea might sound like a drastic cut in your monthly living expenses, you might want to consider selling your car, boat or other personal recreational vehicle that you currently own. By not using your car for daily travel everyday, you will be able to drastically cut your monthly expenses in fuel costs and save some extra money in your checking account every month.
If you are unemployed and need your car to look for a paying job, consider instead the alternative of either walking or taking a public city bus for personal transportation. If you live in a town where you don't have access to a public city bus, and then try borrowing a car from a friend, or from a neighbor, or from a family member.
If you can't borrow a car from somebody, then you might be forced to do a lot of long-distance walking or even riding a mountain bike. Anything you can do to cut your personal transportation expenses will go a long way in helping you to save money until you find another paying job.
Finally, the best thing you can use to survive during a financial emergency situation while being unemployed and looking for a job is to never give up hope and never give up on yourself or your situation. Keep moving forward. Find a way to stay happy, positive and productive while moving forward.
Hopefully, by using some of the techniques mentioned above, you will be able to reduce your monthly living expenses while trying to find another paying job for yourself. Surviving an emergency financial situation is never easy when you are unemployed.
However, if you don't give up on yourself, and if you don't lose faith in which you are as an individual, you will find a way to survive until you find another paying job. Yes, you will survive!

Post a CommentNice job. While the advice is a bit extreme, it is true that extreme circumstances require extreme measures. Since I am a long time mystery shopper I would add that as my only suggestion. You can get grocery store shops that pay a small fee and a small reimbursement for your groceries, gas shops and other shops that pay a straight fee. Plus you can find companies that shop McDonalds and any number of restaurants. A great strategy for survival and the reason why I got into mystery shopping in the first place - see my article to find reliable companies and website information.
