Divorce is never an easy thing for anybody to go through. You devote a certain amount of your life to someone and for one reason or another, it doesn't work out. Let's say that you have a child together; and that alone is one reason why you have to find a way to act like civilized human beings around each other.
Think Of The Children
Granted, you don't have to love each other; but you must not ever fight in front of the children. This can damage them psychologically for life.
The good, the bad, and the ugly
I know that there will be lots of ugly things said during a divorce because you're mad as hell at the other person and you want them to feel your pain. This will just back fire on you. You're better off just accepting your lumps and moving on. If you can rack it all up to life experience and learn from it, then you will be a better person for it.
The Party's Over
There's no use in throwing yourself a big pity party either, because that doesn't benefit anyone; not even yourself.
Change
One thing that you do have to realize is that you are single again. You no longer have another grown up person to count on you. You have to start counting on yourself and accepting personal responsibility for all of your thoughts and actions. You could always play the blame game but that's just an excuse to being stuck in a rut and not doing anything about it.
Stay Positive
So, I suggest being a person of action and starting to make better life choices.
Avoid The Rebound
You might have a tendency to want to jump into another relationship right away just because you don't want to be alone and you think that being alone is the most horrendous thing on the face of the Earth. Well, let me tell you; taking some time off to getting to know yourself better and what you really want out of life is a good thing. If you can avoid getting into another type of relationship, like the one that you just got out of, then you will be a lot better off in the long run.
Take A Little Time For Reflection
Sometimes, when we stand back and take a good look at things, we can see where we went wrong and what the mistakes were that we made. The whole thing about life is to learn and grow from it; and experience bigger and better things.
There Is Hope
Life really sucks when history repeats itself. So, remember; the things that you went through the first time and don't repeat them. Then, you will have a much better chance at enjoying life and making the most of it. That is, unless you really want history to repeat itself. Who knows, maybe you'll find even more misery the second time around. Wouldn't that be fun?
