Surviving Morning Sickness

Matthew Schieltz
Morning sickness is by far one of the worst symptoms of pregnancy. Nausea and vomiting that isn't exclusive to just the morning, but in fact comes about anytime during the day or night. Fear not, you are not alone. Studies show that anywhere from 50 to 90 percent of women suffer from morning sickness and believe it or not there are remedies!

Some great news for you, the mother-to-be, is that more and more remedies are coming about in candy form! B-Natal has come out with TheraPops and Lozenges. These fruity remedies are enriched with vitamin B-6 which has been found to help ease morning sickness. Other candy remedies include "Preggie Pops," "Preggie Pop Drops" and "Ginger Candy" all of which are all-natural and doctor recommended.

"Morning Sickness Magic," an herbal supplement is available as well. Containing vitamin B-6, ginger, red raspberry leaf and the all important folic acid. "Morning Sickness Magic" comes in three forms: liquid, powder and capsules. Although, this product is not intended for quick relief, it may take 2-5 days for it take effect.

For those who are put off by the thought of eating or drinking away morning sickness, there's something for you too! BioBands and SeaBand are just two companies that have come out with "Acupressure Bands." These bands put pressure on the P6 or Neiguan point (which is a bit above the wrist), and is said to relieve nausea within 30 minutes. They may not be the hottest fashion accessory but if you're looking for nausea relief without drugs or side-effects they're certainly the way to go!

The "MorningWell Morning Sickness CD" is another option. Having been tested and said to have a 90% success rate in soothing morning sickness symptoms there'd be no real reason not to give it a try. The CD blocks signals that are sent from the brain to the stomach that causes nausea and vomiting. All you have to do is listen until your morning sickness subsides and you can go about your daily activities feeling refreshed.

Another, moderately disgusting, morning sickness aid available for purchase and use is the "Red E Bag for Morning Sickness." This is a small bag that can be taken with you anywhere, so if the need strikes it's available for your relief. The inside is lined with replaceable leak-proof liners which protects any items that you may be carrying around with you in the bag. A good choice for those who are constantly on the go and have no time or use for any of the other remedies.

While there are many more remedies and relief options out there to explore these are among the top rated and most widely used. Of course, not everyone is the same and what works for one person may not work for you, but you never know until you try.
