Surviving Survivor Shows What Makes Survivor Amazing

Reality Rehash
Surviving Survivor gave us a glimpse into the show that changed the landscape of television a mere ten years ago. Tonight's "anniversary" clip show focused on several past players, favorite moments and events that took place over the past 19 seasons. It all started off with the first winner and we saw a quick recap of Survivor Borneo all focusing on Richard Hatch. It seemed somewhat skewed to try and show the good side of Richard and hinted that he might eventually return to the game in the future. The show seemed to be a very villain focused first half. They showcased Richard, Jerri, Russell and Parvati who have all been shown as being "evil" for their respective seasons. Jerri claimed she'll go into Heroes vs Villains with more fight then before while Parvati basically promised more flirting. But I mean what else could you expect from her. Then we have Russell who met up with Richard and both claimed to be the better player. It's a hard toss-up and I still don't know who I'd call the best villain.

The other person-centered segments seemed to focus more on the "good guys" of the show. We had a brief segment with Stephanie, showing her as being a lonely tribe mate in Palau and also Tom who is known for killing the shark in Palau as well. The bigger segments featured Rupert and Ethan/Jenna. Rupert and his charity, Rupert's Kids, showed the most popular Survivor out of the island setting and in the urban environment. It was interesting seeing how he's used his money to create a program to help take kids off the streets and make them work for a living. Then we had Ethan's story as it showcased his battle with cancer, stem-cell replacement treatment and also his bond with Jenna. It was nice to see that Survivor has made a huge impact for the better and Elisabeth Hassellback showed that well. It almost seems like she's forgotten the show who placed her on the View but finally she's spoken and we see how appreciative of Survivor she is. It helped her find out that she was suffering from a food allergy and inspired her to keep designing, no not shoes, but not on a grander scale.

Overall the show was a great package of the past seasons and their best moments. From Richard winning, Michael Skupin's fall into the fire, Jenna and Heidi's nakedness for peanut butter and chocolate. Then we have the weather from All Stars, Coach's grand craziness and somewhat solitude to Russell's new reign as the biggest bad ass on the show. It was also a glimpse into the future as new info on Survivor Heroes vs Villains were hinted at. Jerri at one point called Russell something to the extent to a crazy master at the game. Could that mean he goes in playing even harder/better then before? We also heard James say he never "wants to hear the tribe has spoken again". I may be reading into it but does that mean he'll go far into this season? There are many questions to be asked about season 20 and next Thursday we will all find out! Until then leave us a comment with your favorite Survivor moment from the past ten years. Think hard because I'm sure there are many.
