Survivor: Heroes Vs. Villain Episode 8

Voting for Strong Players Makes You Lose

When Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains episode 8 began, the Survivor Villains were congratulating themselves for blindsiding Rob. Coach was upset, and Jerri was wondering if she did the right thing. As he spoke with Jerri about it, they were trying to figure out whether they were going to stick with Russell, or do something else. Jerri suggested that they would wait and see what happens.

Over at the Heroes camp, J.T. wandered off to look for the immunity idol, even though they had agreed to look together. He found the idol before Amanda discovered what he was doing; since he was still holding on to it when she arrived, he told her that he found the idol; otherwise, it didn't look like he would have had any intention of telling anybody that he had it. J.T. said that it would go to the first person after the merge that needed it, but Candace and Amanda didn't really believe him. As Candace spoke with Amanda, they came to a belief that they needed to get J.T. out.

Survivor Reward: Challenge or Merge?

Treemail made the Villains think that the Survivors were going to merge. They packed up all their stuff just in case. As they arrived at the reward challenge, Jeff had a table spread out with pizza, and a lot of other good food. Jeff said that they would all have the opportunity to enjoy the feast.

Jeff announced... "Everybody drop your..." the Villains were quite excited... "expectations."

The challenge was Survivor bowling. The winning tribe, based on the first team to win three head-to-head frames, would win the feast.

In the first round of Survivor bowling, Parvati faced Rupert. Parvati made two gutter balls, then Rupert won with three pins in the first round. When Danielle and J.T. faced off, J.T won the second point for the Heroes. In the third round, Russell knocked over five pins to Colby's one, earning the first point for the Villains. In the fourth round, Coach knocked over six pins to Amanda's seven, winning the reward for the Heroes.

The Heroes were happy enjoying their pizza, bread, soda, and beer. Because the only guys left were Russell and Coach, they believed that there was a ladies' alliance at the Villains tribe, when it was really Russell that was the one in control.

Fallout After the Survivor Reward Challenge

Jerri was vocal and upset after returning from the reward challenge. She was upset that Sandra and Courtney sat out, because they had to then participate in the immunity challenge. Coach was the person that wanted to sit them out, remarking that he wanted pizza. Sandra had the idea to convince Russell that Coach was trying to vote him out; as a reaction, Russell would try to get everybody to vote him out.

Russell said that he thought that he was going to dictate who was going to vote out who; he believed Sandra when she told him that Coach was gunning for him, and started telling Parvati and the others that they need to vote out Coach.

The Survivor Immunity Challenge

For the immunity challenge, the Survivors were belted together in pairs. They would go through an obstacle course to grab a flag. Those that returned the flag first would earn a point. The tribe with the most points would win. Because there were five people on the Heroes tribe, there would be one Survivor from each tribe that would go by himself.

Amanda and Candace joined with Russell and Sandra for the first matchup. The girls grabbed the flag first, while the Villains lagged behind. Sandra looked like she was spent. Amanda and Candace completed the course first. The next showdown was between Coach and Rupert. Coach flew ahead, but Rupert was right behind him, and took the lead. It was very close; Coach came ahead at the very end. The final round was between Parvati and Courtney, and J.T. and Colby. J.T. and Colby grabbed the flag while the Villain girls still struggled. The Heroes won immunity before the ladies even arrived at their flag. Courtney thought that she might have twisted her ankle, but she could still walk on it.

Survivor Tribal Council

Danielle spoke to Russell after the challenge, suggesting that they vote out Courtney instead of Coach. Russell didn't want to listen to her initially, but then he changed his mind and told Parvati that keeping Coach around, at least for one more vote, would be a better idea. Jeff noted that Boston Rob and Tyson, which they voted out before they started losing, were stronger players than Courtney. She felt that Jeff was insulting her by saying that, but the truth is, they were stronger than her.

The Villains seemed to be voting along alliance lines, even though that meant voting out the stronger players. They were losing. This was the same thing that the Heroes were doing when they were on their losing streak. They continued to vote along alliance lines, voting out Coach instead of the weaker Courtney. Oddly enough, Russell voted for Courtney, while Danielle, who advocated voting out Courtney, voted for Coach.

  • The Survivor Villains thought there would be a merge, but were then disappointed.
  • The Survivor Heroes won both the immunity and reward challenge.
  • Russell wanted Coach out, but then chooses to vote for Courtney at the last minute.
Coach claims that he met Tom Hanks and talked about his kayaking exploits, which inspired the movie Cast Away. No confirmation on whether this Survivor's tall tale is actually true or not.
