What a shame, since after the James led (or bullied) tribe forces Stephanie LaGrossa out last week, I had begun pulling for the Boston Rob led Villains this week. After all, to hear Stephanie tell it (and it may be soar grapes for all anyone knows), James and Ruppert are two egomaniacs whose manners and likability were discarded long before this season of Survivor got underway.
But no sooner did I start rooting for the Villains that I was promptly disappointed with that tribe's stupidity, and Russell's fawning over Parvati. I frankly don't get Pravati's sex appeal. Perhaps multiple days of starvation has the same dulling affect on the senses as say, getting drunk. Give me All-American girl Stephanie over her any day. Russell's one major move this week was to hide the tribes machete, which is a far cry from how well he played the game during the last season of Survivor.
Having said that, for a girl with a bit of a target on her back (or was that just editing that made it seem that way?), Parvati weaseled her way out of collecting any votes at all, which left Randy (aka, the tribes old guy) as an easy target at tribal council.
In a move of total disgust, Randy threw his tribal bandanna into the fire on his way off the set. Not classy by any means, but given his mood can you blame him?
Still, what were they all thinking? Given Parvati's friendship with three members of the Heroes tribe (among them, James the bully), why did they let the girl dubbed "a virus" (by Jerri) off the hook at this stage of the game?
It would served them right, if "The Virus" comes back to haunt them all, especially Russell whom before this week had been one of my personal favorites. Where does that leave me? Back to the Heroes tribe? Cheering for James the bully to get kicked out? Waiting for Colby and Tom to finally find an alliance to wiggle their way into?
Where is Richard Hatch when you need him.
