Survivor Micronesia Episode 2

Well, as the song says.....

This episode highlighted the lack of team spirit of the Fans and the "smell of teen spirit" for the Favs. Let me illuminate:

Cut to the Fans camp, lots of talking no working. Flint is struck by girl, small fire starts then goes out, Joel (caveman) jumps in strikes flint repeatedly for what he claims is ½ hour and is unable to make fire.

Erik and/or Jason tells crazy Kathy and crew to take a hike and not make shelter with the others.

Kathy, Tracy, and Chet are ostracized and build their own shelter. The other 7 notice it, like it and copy it for themselves. Making their own shelter for the favored seven.

Finally fire is made, giant clam eaten and night falls.

On the Favs beach all is well. Yau-man cooks, Ozzie dives for giant clams and flirts with Amanda. James and Parvati gather coconuts and looks from team members. Comments are made about the couples and Cirie is looking to break up the fearsome foursome.

Come night fall Amanda & Ozzie make jungle love sounds and wake up Cirie and John. James and Parvati snuggle. John & Cirie talk that night about a possible alliance.

Challenge Day

The challenge in this episode involves 5 swimmers, 3 puzzle solvers and 1 key master (no it is not a remake of Ghostbusters!). Five members from each team must swim to a platform, climb a ladder, and bust a clay tablet which releases a key into the lagoon. They then must dive for the key, bring it back to shore and the next one goes.

Both teams are doing fine at this till Chet goes in for the Fans. Chet is not a good diver and is unable to get his key. Joel (caveman) not liking Chet (gayman) yells at Chet to get out of the water. Teams continue and Favs win. For their efforts that get immunity, fishing gear and a bamboo boat.

For a twist one member from each team is sent to Exile island. This produces amusing bit where Cirie of the Favs and crazy Kathy of the Fans swim and walk back and forth between small islands in search of the hidden immunity idol.

The Fans get squat and a meeting with Jeff in "Tribal Council."

Now one would think that the natural person to be voted off would be Chet. He has three strikes against him, 1) He's gay 2) He's one of the outcast 3 and 3) He sucks as a swimmer and cost them the challenge.

Ah... Here's where Caveman get idea! After listening to Mikey B. run through all the possibilities about voting off Chet or Tracy (crazy Kathy still has immunity from 1 Episode) Joel decides to back door Mikey B. and vote off his love interest and alliance partner Mary. I tell ya, I was surprised that a caveman/fire fighter read Machiavelli much less could implement the tactics.

So Joel goes to several people, including the three outcasts and tells them just vote for Mary and don't ask questions. Guess what, they did.

Cut to tribal council, Jeff asks Mary about the game and personalities, she states she feels safe. When Joel is asked he says something that should scare his teammates and uncover that behind the brute is a devious brain. Joel states "this is a game of loyalty and a game of deception-anybody can go at any time." Fans vote, Jeff tallies, and Mary, looking bummed is voted out. Joel/caveman/Machiavelli smiles, Mikey B. looks hurt and confused as Mary's torch is extinguished and she exits stage right.

Mary never even saw it coming. Jeff congratulates the Fans on their first blindside and sends them on their way.
