This year Parvati was the winner but this came after a brutal Final Tribal Council where several of the jury members basically told her off for her selfish, shallow and cut-throat game plan. After all was said and done, she still got the votes. I really thought, based on the Tribal Council, that Amanda would walk away with the million dollars but in the end I guess her puppy dog look got on enough of the jury member's nerves and she came in second. She has come so close to TWO million dollar prizes. While I believe she was displaying real feelings, I think she could've done so without the drama. In the end I think that's what caused her to lose...had she held back the tears and had a stronger expression she probably could have won.
All in all this year was thrilling and unique. I've never seen so many injuries in one season, they set a record for the number of Survivors who had to leave that were not voted off, the Tribal Councils were CRAZY and of course, all women in the end was very fun. It's amazing to me how quickly a cut can turn into something so serious in those elements. I give all three of those who left before their tribe had spoken kudos for trying to stick it out.
So is Parvati shallow or was it really all part of her master plan? I honestly believe that she came into this armed mainly with the 'wit' to win and the will to outlast. She tried hard in challenges and pulled her weight around camp but deep down she had a plan. The best move she made was to get the two fans on her side. Once she had Nat & Alexis' vote from the jury she was set. Throughout the game, she laid low at times and took advantage of Ciri's ability to read people as well as using Ciri's masterful ideas for getting the guys out and then in the end Parv had aligned with the right person by aligning with Amanda. She played her cards well and kept her cool the entire time. In the end, that's why she won, she played the game well. It is a GAME, too often people make it personal. I think she's probably a good person outside of the game but she did what she had to do to win. I wouldn't use 'shallow' to describe her...I'd use 'millionaire.' :)
