'Survivor: Nicaragua' 2010 Spoilers- Week 14 Recap: Family Matters

Who Went Home This Week on 'Survivor'?

Victoria Leigh Miller
Wednesday night on CBS' "Survivor: Nicaragua," the 6 remaining tribe members were shaken up after Benry's unexpected demise. But they had an even bigger shake up when host Jeff Probst handed them a cleverly product-placed Sprint Evo to view video messages from their loved ones back home.

But that was nothing. For this week's reward challenge, Probst introduced a family member for each of the survivors. Yep, Sash, Chase and Fabio's moms all came out of the bushes, as did Dan's son Matthew, Jane's daughter Ashley and Holly's husband, Charlie. Holly was really glad to see her hubby after all these weeks. Seriously, get a hut!

The winner of the immunity challenge not only received a boat trip to the lovely coast of Nicaragua, but a feast fit for a ("Survivor") king. That would be cold cut sandwiches, chips, cookies, beer and champagne.

The loved ones also played a key role in the reward challenge. After the survivors walked on planks and jumped in water to retrieve bags of letter tiles, their family members had to use the letters to spell out a key phrase.

All I can say while watching this is I hope Dan's son is smart.

In any event, Chase's mom Connie ruled this one. She figured out the phrase "Family Comes First." With all of the letters involved, I don't see how she did it. It looked nearly impossible- and I'm a wordsmith!

With reward in hand, a lucky (or maybe not so lucky, depending on how you look at it) Chase got to pick two other people to join him for reward. He smartly picked Sash. Yeah, he better. Then he picked Holly. Gee, didn't he do that last week? This, after vowing to Fabio that he was his man.

Fabio bawled- literally. Apparently he and Mumsy don't see each other all that often (they live in different states). He feels very betrayed by Chase and tells him about it later, when Chase comes back all full-bellied and glowing after a date with his own mom.

Immunity Challenge

For the immunity challenge, the players were blindfolded and had to duplicate a shield made of puzzle pieces. After a lot of touching and feeling, Fabio won immunity. He was later annoyed when it became clear that Chase was waffling over voting Jane out.

Later, the gang- including Chase- told Jane that they planned to vote her out. Why do they talk out loud on this show? All it did was infuriate the hardworking Jane, who went and doused the fire she built with water. Hell hath no fury like a woman....oh, never mind.

Tribal Council

At tribal, well aware that she was the target, Jane called out Holly for swiping Dan's $1400 shoes earlier in the season. Probst egged the gang on about their vote-off plans and for a millisecond it appeared that Holly could be at risk. But no, it was Jane who was voted off this week.
