Survivor Nicaragua Episode 13

Liars and Backstabbers

Towards the beginning of Survivor Nicaragua episode 13, Chase picked up treemail and found a cell phone. On it were video messages recorded from family members. Chase, Dan, Holly, and Fabio were left in tears as they watched their loved ones.

Survivor Reward Challenge

Each Survivor would compete with their loved one to win the reward challenge. The winner of the reward would get the chance to ride on a boat down the coast of Nicaragua, eat a nice meal, and get the chance to spend the day with their loved one.

All the family members came in and gave their Survivors a hug. Chase's mom Connie, Fabio's mom Anne, Sash's mom Lee, Dan's son Matthew, Jane's daughter Ashley, and Holly's husband Charlie came and joined their Survivor on the mat, as they joined in the competition.

For the reward, the Survivors would jump in the water, grab a bag of puzzle pieces, and bring it their family members. The Survivors would then jump in the water and grab a second bag of puzzle pieces. It was then up to the family member to figure out the puzzle, which was a bunch of letters that they had to unscramble to reveal the phrase "family comes first". Chase's mom took the lead, stayed in the lead, and solved the puzzle first for the reward. Jeff allowed Chase to pick two people to go on the reward with him and his mom: he picked Sash and Holly, even though he had promised Fabio that he would take him on the next reward. Fabio was upset, as he doesn't get to see his mom very often (they live in different states).

After the Challenge

While Chase and his family were away at the reward, Fabio, Dan, and Jane were upset about the choices that Chase made.

At the reward, the Survivors and family members ate watermelon, cookies, fruit, and sandwiches, and drank champagne, juice and beer. They enjoyed the day together. As the sun set and the loved ones went home, Chase felt apprehensive about going back to camp and facing his disappointed tribemates. Sure enough, when Chase returned, Fabio confronted him, telling him that he was upset about his choice.

The Survivor Immunity Challenge

For immunity, all the Survivors were blindfolded. They were tied to a hitching rail. They would feel their way along the rail to a table with a shield on it. Then they would memorize the items on the shield, using their hands to feel the symbols and their position of each item. They would return to the other end of the hitching rail, where a blank shield waited for them to recreate the shield with a set of puzzle pieces located in three different bags. The first person to recreate the shield, while still blindfolded, would win.

Jane was the first to believe that she had memorized her puzzle and return to her blank shield. Holly dropped one of her bags, which held her up a bit. Dan had trouble making his way back to his shield and was far behind. Fabio thought that he had the pieces in the right positions, but was wrong initially. He tried again and had it right the second time, winning immunity.

After the Immunity Challenge

The group had wanted to vote out Fabio, but since he won immunity, they had to vote somebody else out. Fabio wanted to vote out Jane, but Chase wanted to vote out Dan. Sash and Holly wanted to vote Jane out as well. Jane approached them as they were talking and asked if they were going to vote out her; they told her that they were going to vote her out because they thought that she could win the million dollars over them. She flipped them off.

Jane was angry. At camp, she put out the fire. "By God I started it, I'll put it out," she proclaimed.

Tribal Council

At Tribal Council, Jane said that the tribe was full of liars and backstabbers. She pointed out how Holly ruined Dan's $1400 shoes. When Jeff asked if the next would be for Fabio or Dan, Chase agreed, and looked to Holly and Sash to confirm that was right. They seemed to hesitate when answering him, but they agreed. Jeff asked, why wouldn't Jane, Dan and Fabio make their own alliance? Jane said that would be a good idea. Jeff asked Jane what she would suggest that the alliance did, and Jane said Dan and Fabio should vote out Holly because Chase and Sash had hidden immunity idols.

Before the vote, both Sash and Chase played their immunity idols, because it was the last night to play them. Jane's suggestion to vote Holly out didn't work. She was voted out by everyone. Not even Jane voted for Holly; she voted for Sash, and her vote didn't count because he had played an immunity idol. Jane became the fifteenth person to leave Survivor Nicaragua.
