Survivor Nicaragua Episode 7

Stupid Move, or Genius?

Brooke Lorren
As the tribes returned home from tribal council at the end of Survivor Nicaragua episode 7, some of the members of Espada were unsure of whether keeping Dan in favor of Yve was the right thing to do or not. The dominant alliance on that tribe wanted to get rid of Alina next. Over at La Flor, Marty was surprised. He wondered what had been going on, and his tribemates admitted that they wanted to flush the idol out. Marty was angry that Jane had turned on him.

La Flor

Marty confronted Jane about the idol. He pointed out that he had never lied to her, then insinuated that she had voted for him the night before. In response, she just laughed, not admitting to it. Although he acted like he was on her side to her face, he discussed their conversation with Jill. Jill commented that she wanted to get rid of her.

The Reward Challenge

For the reward challenge, the Survivors would run off a platform into a pool. As they leaped into the air, they would attempt to throw a ball into a net on the other side of the pool. In the center of the pool, one of the other tribe members would act as defender, standing on a perch and trying to block the ball from getting into the net. The first tribe to get to five points would win the reward: spending a day on a Nicaraguan farm, including riding a horse, milking a cow, and eating a hearty meal.

Fabio was the defender for La Flor, while Chase defended for Espada. Naonka went first, scoring a point for Espada. Jill tied the game 1-1. Benry brought Espada into the lead again. Purple Kelly tied the game a few rounds later. Alina put Espada back into the lead again. When Fabio went back into the water, he peed into the pool before he climbed up on the pedestal. When questioned by Jeff, Fabio said that the water was dirty already, and asked "doesn't everybody pee in the pool?" Jeff asked the others if they peed in the pool, and everybody vehemently disagreed (note: don't invite him over to your next pool party). Naonka and Jill scored in the next round, leaving the score at 4-3. Benry scored a final point, giving Espada the win.

After the Survivor Reward Challenge

At La Flor, Jane went back to work. She discussed on camera how she worked hard and didn't complain when the other people lied around the camp doing nothing. Jane went out early and caught a fish. She decided that since she caught the fish, she would eat one of them by herself. She went into the woods, built a fire, and ate it all by herself.

Espada had a good time at their reward. They rode horses around the farm, then went to the barn to milk a cow. Naonka wasn't very excited about the process of milking a cow. She did like the food, which included fresh cheese from the farm, eggs, watermelon, and tortillas. Alina was very emotional about eating the nice meal, but being away from her family. Naonka thought that she was pretending, and had her typical negative attitude about her.

The Survivor Immunity Challenge

For immunity, two members from each tribe would stand on a three-tiered platform. Four other tribe members would move a chute using a system of ropes and pulleys. The two tribe members on the platform would direct the chute, then roll a cannonball down the chute, with the goal of hitting one of five different plates on the ground below. The first team to break all five plates would win immunity.

La Flor took the lead by breaking the first plate in the first round. In the second round, Espada tied it up. Espada took the lead in the next round, and scored again in the two rounds after that. La Flor scored again, bringing the score to 4-2. Espada won immunity in the next round.

Scheming for the Immunity Idol

With the next vote looming, La Flor had to figure out who to vote out next. The younger alliance initially decided to split the vote, giving three votes to Marty, and two votes to Jill, with Marty and Jill voting for whoever they wanted to get rid of. Then they came up with the idea of asking Marty to give them the immunity idol in exchange for not voting for him in the next round. Although that nearly always is a disaster, Marty agreed to the idea, giving Sash the idol.

Survivor Tribal Council

At tribal council, Jane mentioned that some of the people on the tribe felt like they were on the outside. She said that it was obvious who was on the outside. Marty accused Jane of flip-flopping. Jane said "when we became yellow, I became yellow." Jeff brought up the idol; Marty mentioned that he transferred the idol to Sash.

When Jeff read the vote, Jill was voted out. Marty and Jane both received two votes each, while Jill received three votes. The younger alliance kept their word not to vote out Marty, at least for the time being.

  • In Survivor Nicaragua Episode 7, Marty and Jill are at odds with Jane.
  • Espada won both the reward and immunity challenges.
  • Sash asks Marty if he'd give him the immunity idol, in exchange for not voting him out.
Most of the time when a Survivor willingly gives his idol away, it ends up being a very stupid move.
