Survivor Nicaragua: Now with Zero Celebrity Cred

Reality Rehash
Lately Survivor Nicaragua has been focusing on the big characters/players so tonight I will follow in the same theme. Only a select group of players have seen air-time this season and sadly, a lot of others are so MIA that I can hardly remember their names. The fact that the true tribe-names are never spoken doesn't help either but hopefully a mix-up occurs soon so we can get some of these people airtime.

LA FLOR - Younger Tribe

Benry: Not much to really say about this guy other then the fact that he saved the immunity challenge for his tribe. Yeah, that's about it for him.

Alina: She's probably the new leader of the post-Shannon foursome, but she's a very quiet leader. I have a feeling she'll be target number one if the younger tribe loses unless she let's her friend take the fall.

Kelly B: Kelly has proven that she can play the physical game with only one leg and even got into it with Na'Onka. The two saw the hidden immunity idol clue in the basket they were carrying. Only problem was, Na'Onka was ready to knock Kelly out for the piece of paper, oh and smash a few bananas in the act.

Jud: AKA Fabio, he's proven to be a huge, and only, comic relief for the season. He's nearly burned his face off each episode, makes random remarks during confessional and just overall is very crazy. I'm still not sure if it's an act or not. Who knows, he may be pulling the biggest fake out since Johnny Fairplay.

Na'Onka: She's crazy, but in a good way. She doesn't hold anything back and is the only driving force for the younger tribe to get any airtime. She started off hating Jud but not hates Kelly more, even though Kelly didn't do anything. By pushing Kelly out of the way to get the clue she put herself out there, but she kind of put the blame on Kelly for simply looking at her wrong. Na'Onka theoretically shouldn't make it past the next Tribal Council, the way she's acting, but I really hope she stays for a long, long time.

IMMUNITY CHALLENGE

OK let's take a break from the people and focus on the sole challenge of the night. With only one challenge per-episode, things just seem off. Right when it feels time for a reward challenge we get another beach scene and people talking about nothing. PLEASE let next week feature two competitions since one just doesn't feel right.

The challenge was a brand new one and it played out rather well. After rolling ten barrels to a mat, they then had to stack the barrels and one player would throw sacks on to their tops. The first tribe to get all ten sacks on the barrels would win immunity. It was simple in concept but was fun to watch. The older tribe was slightly behind when it came to getting the barrels to their location, but at the start of the throwing the young tribe was only one ahead. Benry and Tyrone started off the throwing and while Benry stumbled, Tyrone flourished. At one point it was 6 to 3, with the older tribe ahead, but after pulling him out and sending him back in, Benry stepped it up. He not only tied, but passed Tyrone making it 9 to 7 before Tyrone was pulled out. Jimmy T was sent in, way too late if you ask me, but Benry finished him off and claimed the win for La Flor... I mean the Young Tribe.

ESPADA - Older Tribe

Dan: He has a bad knee, doesn't sleep, doesn't eat and is just a cranky old man. He can hardly stand yet they keep him around, I don't get it.

Tyrone: I would assume he would be blamed for the loss, since he wouldn't come out of the challenge when he sucked, but he stayed. He fought with Jimmy T, also argued with Jimmy Johnson but people seem to just shrug him off. I don't get it.

Jill: I really like Jill but I think he's makes stupid decisions. For one, why would you force Marty to share the hidden idol with the tribe? Jill doesn't get the fact that it's Marty's idol, not hers. She technically has no say when or how its used. If she wanted the power, she should have found it herself.

Marty: He's really the only one playing the game on the older tribe. He went along with Jill's plan to display the idol to everyone, but he knows it will only be used to better himself. Then he rallied the troupes to send out Jimmy Johnson, the one who everyone loves, and succeeded. He is definitely playing a Russel Hantz game, just in a nicer, more calm tone which could send him to a win.

Jimmy T: The more outspoken of the Jimmys. He praised Marty for sharing the idol with the tribe, then bashed Jimmy Johnson for not sending him in to play during the challenge. Next time I see a fight brewing between him and Marty for the new leadership role. He'll be the louder of the two, but I don't see anyone really allowing him to get the power he thinks he deserves.

Jimmy Johnson: We all knew it wouldn't be a long game for the "celebrity" of the season. He did have his fans on the tribe, like Yve and Holly, but Marty's plan worked and he was sent home. Jimmy came on the show, claiming to just be there for the experience, but it does seem he did want to win. He was thrown into a leadership role, which he did not want, but took it well and did a decent job. I just wish his celebrity wouldn't have been so overplayed. Had he came in as a normal person, he could have gone far and for this very reason I hope they never decide to throw in a celeb again. It's just a waste of a spot that could have gone to someone else, someone who could have really used the money.
