Survivor Redemption Island Episode 13

As Survivor Redemption Island Episode 13 began, Murlonio was returning from Tribal Council. Ashley commented about how she enjoyed blindsiding Andrea and sending her to Redemption Island. Ashley wanted Natalie to make a pact so that they would tell each other if the other was going to be voted out, but Natalie wasn't so sure of that. Rob noticed that they had been talking, and was concerned about their relationship. When Rob asked Natalie what was going on, she answered truthfully that Ashley had been planning on forming a mini-alliance with her.

Redemption Island

Andrea approached Redemption Island. She gave a hug to Ralph. Andrea said that Matt had been giving her dirty looks, but that hadn't been the case. Andrea had to sleep on the ground. Ralph thought that it was payback for the way that her tribe had forced his tribe to sleep in a separate, and not as good, sleeping area.

When her former tribemates marched in to watch the Redemption Island duel, Andrea seemed hurt that her teammates had lied to her. As Jeff asked her about being blindsided, she was on the verge of tears.

The duel required the Redemption Island contestants to move a handle through a puzzle maze. Once they were able to move the handle through the maze to release it, they would use the handle to smash a tile. At that point they would get a bag of puzzle pieces, which was hidden underneath the tile. They would use the puzzle pieces to solve a puzzle. The first three people to finish the puzzle would move on

Ralph and Andrea were doing well with the puzzle maze. Ralph pulled ahead and finished the maze first. Andrea was panicking. Mike and Matt finished the maze, with Andrea pulling up the rear. Mike and Matt started to catch up on the puzzle, while Ralph lost his lead. Mike finished first. Matt finished second. Andrea finished in third place, which sent Ralph to the jury.

At Murlonio's Camp

Rob complained that the Zapatera tribe ate too much before they were voted out. The food situation wasn't going very well. Phillip came up with a genius idea: why don't the girls eat less so the guys could have more food? His theory was that Natalie and Ashley didn't need as many calories as the guys did because they were smaller, and because the average woman didn't need as many calories as the average man. The girls thought that the idea was preposterous. Phillip said that he was "well-read" and that's why he knew that they didn't need any more calories. This sparked an argument between him and the girls.

Rob said to the cameraman that Phillip was crazy. "Not the N-word crazy; he's just crazy." He was referring to a comment that Phillip had said during a previous Tribal Council that whenever somebody said a black person was crazy, it was just a nice way of saying the N-word without actually using that word.

Grant suggested that they vote out Ashley. Rob agreed, because he didn't trust her, and Grant's theory was, if they voted out Ashley, Natalie would never turn on their alliance after that. Further pushing this theory was the fact that their animosity towards Phillip was driving them closer together

Andrea took Rob aside and suggested that they vote out Grant. He said that he'd get back to her, but he obviously wasn't very happy with the idea, considering that he wanted to get rid of her

The Survivor Challenge

For the challenge, the tribe members would use large fish hooks, linked together, to grab puzzle pieces. They would then use the puzzle pieces to assemble a puzzle that looked like a fish skeleton. The puzzle would be done with one arm tied behind their back. The winner would not only win immunity, but they would also get a meal delivered to them at camp, "room service" style.

Grant grabbed his first bag of puzzles first, followed by Rob. Natalie was having trouble emptying the first bag of puzzles. Grant completed the first section (of three) first, followed by Rob. Rob seemed to be in the lead during the second section, but Ashley overtook him. Ashley was the first person to retrieve the third bag of pieces. She finished the third section before all of the others and won immunity. Ashley was able to choose someone to join her for room service, and she chose to eat with Natalie.

Back from the Challenge

Grant and Rob had planned to vote out Ashley, but Rob's plans were ruined when she won immunity. Rob felt that he didn't have much of a choice except to go along with Ashley's plans to vote out Grant, because he didn't want to vote out Natalie or Phillip. When Rob discussed his "plans" with Grant, they both decided to vote out Natalie. The truth was that only Grant would be voting for Natalie.

Natalie and Ashley enjoyed their room service, which included foods like pizza, nachos, pasta, and two types of dessert (chocolate and something that looked like angel food cake). They ate so much food that their digestive systems were bothering them.

Tribal Council

At tribal council, Ashley said that she felt as if she needed to win immunity this round. Ashley admitted that she and Natalie were close; Jeff said that as she said that they were close, it was causing bombs to go off in their opponent's heads. Natalie said that because they were close, it might cause the others to want to vote her out.

When Jeff asked what kept Rob going through the game, he turned around and showed a picture of his wife and daughter on the back of his shirt. Grant said that his fianc©e was what was helping him to hang on.

Rob and the others did stick with his plan to vote out Grant instead of Natalie. Off he went to Redemption Island. "See you guys shortly," Grant said as he left the group.
