Survivor Series: 2011 Predictions

TAG TEAM MATCH: John Cena & The Rock vs. The Awesome Truth (The Miz & R-Truth)

WWE should allow The Awesome Truth to win this Match. They need the victory more than Cena and The Rock. Since Cena and The Rock will be facing each other at WrestleMania XVIII one Superstar could turn on the other. Cena could turn on The Rock or vice versa. It makes more sense for The Rock to attack Cena and walk away. The Rock has pointed out that he appeals to the older male fans of the WWE Universe, while Cena appeals to mostly Lil Jimmy's. The older fans in the WWE Universe would be on board with The Rock turning on Cena as opposed to Cena turning on The Rock. Cena could turn on The Rock to get his revenge from WrestleMania XVII but now is not the right time to try and turn Cena heel. It is not the right time because both men will go into WrestleMania XVIII as tweeners. The Rock will have 'Team Bring It' in his corner, Cena will have the Lil Jimmy's in his. Even though I would like to see The Awesome Truth pick up the victory, it does not make sense to have The Rock or Cena turn on each other. For those reasons I'm giving the victory to Cena and The Rock.

5-ON-5 TRADITIONAL SURVIVOR SERIES TAG TEAM MATCH: Team Orton (Randy Orton, Sheamus, Mason Ryan, Kofi Kingston, & Sin Cara) vs. Team Barrett (Wade Barrett, Cody Rhodes, Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger, Hunico)

Neither Orton nor Barrett is a stranger to leading a team of Superstars. While leading Legacy Orton was able to capture the WWE Championship on three different occasions and win the 2009 Royal Rumble. Barrett's biggest accomplishment as leader of The Nexus was forcing John Cena to join the group by defeating him at Hell In A Cell. As a member of The Nexus Cena went on to capture the WWE Tag Team Championships with David Otunga. Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel were also able to capture the WWE Tag Team Championships under Barrett's reign. Barrett was unable to capture any singles Championships while leading The Nexus; However, Barrett paved the way for CM Punk. Punk over threw Barrett and went on to win the WWE Championship as leader of The New Nexus. After being over thrown from The Nexus, Barrett reemerged with the debut of The Corre. Barrett claimed The Corre had no leader and it was all about the group, but it was clear to see Barrett was running things. As leader of The Corre, Barrett went on to capture the Intercontinental Championship. He also lead Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel to two WWE Tag Team Championship reigns. Although Barrett only captured one singles Championship he was a better leader than Orton. Now Barrett will get the chance to prove that at Survivor Series by leading his team to victory over Team Orton.

It would make sense to give the victory to Team Orton. Orton is on the cover of WWE 12; However, Big Show was on the cover of the Money In The Bank poster, where he was unable to pick up the victory over Mark Henry. The Superstars from Team Orton and Team Barrett faced off in various Matches on Raw and SmackDown.

On Raw, Orton picked up a victory over Barrett. Sheamus picked up a victory over Swagger. Ryan picked up a victory over Ziggler. Only two Superstars picked up a victory for Team Barrett on Raw. Those two Superstars were Rhodes and Hunico who defeated Kingston and Sin Cara in a Tag Team Match.

On SmackDown, Orton and Sheamus picked up a victory over Barrett and Rhodes. Kingston picked up a victory over Hunico. Ryan picked up a victory over Swagger. The only Superstar from Team Barrett to pick up a victory was Ziggler, who defeated Sin Cara.

Heading into this Match Team Orton has the advantage with 6 victories over members of Team Barrett. Team Barrett only managed to pick up 2 victories over members of Team Orton. Team Orton also gets a slight advantage because Ziggler has to defend his United States Championship against John Morrison. If Ziggler has to face Morrison before this Match, he may not be well rested like the other Superstars. Even with that slight advantage it will not be enough for Team Orton to pick up the victory. Team Orton has already picked up 6 victories leading up to this Match. Now it's time for Team Barrett to even the odds. For those reasons I'm giving the victory to Team Barrett.

Winners: Team Barrett (Wade Barrett, Cody Rhodes, Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger, Hunico)

WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: Big Show vs. Mark Henry (Champion)

Henry and Show faced off at Vengeance with neither Superstar picking up the victory. When these two faced off at Vengeance I gave Henry the victory because Show had not done anything to earn a Championship Match. Since neither Superstar picked up the victory at Vengeance, I'm sticking with my original prediction of Henry because Show has yet to beaten anyone to deserve a Championship Match. For those reasons I'm giving the victory to Henry.

Winner: Mark Henry

WWE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: CM Punk vs. Alberto Del Rio (Champion)

Del Rio needs to win this Match and remain Champion for the rest of the year. The WWE Championship has changed hands to many times over the past few months. It would not make sense to have it change hands again. The WWE needs to start looking ahead to WrestleMania XVIII. Cena stated "he would be Champion until April 2, 2012". April 2, 2012 is the date of WrestleMania XXVIII but Cena has already gone back on his word by losing the Championship. If the WWE wants Cena to regain the Championship they need to figure out who it will be against. If Cena turns on The Rock during their Tag Team Match it would make sense for Punk to win this Match. That way Punk and Cena could face off again as tweeners. If Cena does not turn on The Rock it would make sense for Del Rio to win this Match. Thus giving Cena a heel opponent to win the Championship from. The real reason Del Rio is going to win this Match is Punk has not defeated anyone to earn a Championship Match. Punk had his chance to become number one contender when he faced off against Mark Henry a few weeks back; However, Punk was unable to pick up the victory because Del Rio and Ricardo Rodriguez interfered in the Match causing Punk to get disqualified. Now Punk needed to find another way for Del Rio to agree to a Championship Match. Punk did that later in the night. After The Big Show defeated Del Rio, Punk entered the ring to wake him up. When Del Rio was awake Punk locked in the 'Anaconda Vice' until Del Rio agreed to give him a Championship Match. Placing a Superstar in a submission to earn a Championship Match should not be rewarded with a victory. Punk could sneak away with a victory but it would most likely come by disqualification, allowing Del Rio to remain Champion. Del Rio will have Ricardo Rodriguez at ringside along with Michael Cole who was recently attacked by Punk. Cole could get his revenge by costing Punk the WWE Championship. For those reasons I'm giving the victory to Del Rio.

Winner: Alberto Del Rio

UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: John Morrison vs. Dolph Ziggler (Champion)

This is the second PPV in a row that Ziggler has to pull double duty. Last month at Vengeance, Ziggler had to defend the United States Championship against Zack Ryder and team with Jack Swagger to compete for the WWE Tag Team Championships against Air Boom (Evan Bourne & Kofi Kingston). Ziggler and Swagger came up short against Air Boom but Ziggler was able to hold onto the United States Championship by defeating Ryder. After coming up short against Ziggler, Ryder started an online petition in an attempt to get another United States Championship Match. It looks like the WWE ignored Ryder's petition and placed Ziggler against Morrison instead. Morrison has been on a losing streak since August. He recently picked up a victory over Ziggler earning him this Championship Match. With only a few victories since August Morrison should not be allowed to win this Match. The WWE is most likely using Morrison as a filler since Mason Ryan is competing in the 5-ON-5 Traditional Survivor Series Tag Team Match and Zack Ryder had his chance last month at Vengeance. For those reasons I'm giving the victory to Ziggler.

Winner: Dolph Ziggler

LUMBER JILL DIVAS CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: Eve vs. Beth Phoenix (Champion)

Phoenix defeated Eve last month at Vengeance. If Phoenix hopes to remain Champion she will have to do it with the rest of the WWE Divas surrounding the ring. Phoenix should have no problem regaining the Divas Championship. She just won the Championship at Hell In A Cell it would not make sense to have her lose the Championship less than two months later. For those reasons I'm giving the victory to Phoenix.

Winner: Beth Phoenix
