As Survivor South Pacific Episode 11 began, Te Tuna was returning from tribal council. They had just demolished the old Savaii tribe (with the exception of Cochran, who had been adopted into the Upolu "family"). It was now time to start eating their own.
Cochran gathered all of his tribe together and asked them to not vote him out immediately. Albert and Coach thought that they should keep him around for one more vote, because he did help the Upolu tribe stay around for a while. Whitney did not agree. Personally, I think that Cochran's move seemed a little like begging, and wouldn't do much to curry favor with the rest of his tribe. As an expert in Survivor, Cochran should have known that.
Redemption Island
For the Redemption Island challenge, Whitney, Dawn, and Ozzy had to balance dishes on the end of a lever. They would start out with one dish, and over time, Jeff asked them to add dishes to the stack on the end of the lever. The last player to drop the dishes would get to stay in the game. Dawn was the first person to lose her balance and drop her dishes. Whitney dropped her dishes second. Ozzy remained in the game yet again.
Back at Camp
Cochran helped Brandon go fishing. He seems to have delusions of grandeur. He held a fish that Brandon caught. While holding a fish so that someone may go out and catch some more fish may be an important job, Cochran seemed to feel as if his tribemates would be excited if he brought the fish into camp.
Edna was getting fed up with Albert. She spent the day doing laundry while Albert lounged about in the hammock all day. At one point, Albert stupidly knocked some of the laundry water into the fire and put out the fire. Edna knew that the tribe planned on voting her and Cochran out next, but she thought that maybe there would be a chance of getting rid of Albert instead.
Survivor Immunity
The immunity challenge was to be conducted in two stages. In the first stage, the players would throw beanbags onto three different platforms, located at various distances. The first three people to land three bags on the three different platforms would move on to the second round. During the second stage, the three winning Survivors from the first round would have to hit three different targets with coconuts that they fired from a slingshot. In addition to winning immunity, the winner would also get a shower and a massage.
During the beanbag stage, Albert was the first person to make to land three beanbags on the three different platforms and make it to the second round. Rick landed his third beanbag next. Sophie took the third spot. In the second round, Rick took an early lead, quickly knocking over two targets. Albert caught up to him, and then passed Rick for the win.
After Albert took the win, Jeff said that there were two tables, and that he could choose another person to join him. Albert chose Coach; then he asked if he could give away his massage. Jeff said that he could give away his reward if he wanted to. Albert chose Cochran to take his spot. Cochran didn't know whether Albert chose to give him this reward because Cochran had lied and told everyone it was his birthday, whether Albert felt that he owed Cochran something for flipping his alliance, or whether they actually were going to keep him around for a little longer.
Who to Vote Out Next?
Prior to the vote, Cochran tried to convince others to keep him in the game. He talked to Edna, Albert, and Coach about voting out Rick, because Rick had called Albert a princess for hanging around the hammock all day, doing nothing. If Cochran could form this new alliance, he would be able to stay in the game, at least for one more round. He seemed to have a convincing case: Coach said that he would fight for him, and Coach was one of the people that Cochran was trying to piece together in this alliance of four.
At Tribal Council, Cochran said that he felt that the rest of the tribe was somewhat in debt to him for allowing the tribe to get to where they were today. Edna also felt that she had been duped, in that she was going to be voted out sixth. Brandon said that he needed to stick with his original alliance, otherwise it would be lying. While discussing the alliances, Cochran came up with the hypothetical "what would happen if Edna won immunity in the next round?"
In the end, Edna winning immunity wasn't much of a concern, and in Survivor, nobody is entitled to sticking around for another day unless they have immunity. Cochran was voted out. More than likely, he will not win the immunity challenge against Ozzy in the next round, but then again, anything can happen in Survivor.
