Survivor Tocantins Reunion Show

More About the Survivors

The reunion show began with the final results. For the second time in Survivor history, the vote was unanimous, with J.T. winning. During the reunion show, Jeff had J.T.'s tooth. J.T. didn't want the tooth, but his mom did. Jeff interviewed J.T.'s mom, and she told Jeff that she had believed for three years that J.T. could win the game.

Jeff said that he had never guessed that everybody would love her the most. He mentioned that Taj had been a pop star on her own (the first time during the television show that it had been mentioned). She mentioned how she had not been outdoorsy prior to going to Survivor, but once she was out there, she got the hang of things. Jeff went out to the audience to talk to her husband, Eddie George from the NFL. He had been a Royal Ranger, where he learned how to start a fire.

Jeff discussed how Sierra had been universally despised. It was hard for her to be disliked. She mentioned how she had been a dependent person for most of her life, but during the game she learned independence. The Survivors seemed to react positively to her at this point, outside of the game.

The next person they discussed at the reunion show was Coach. Coach was certainly "colorful," as Jeff mentioned. Coach said that most of the people on the street said that they watched the show because of him. His friends understand his eccentric side. Jeff asked him about floating down the Amazon and getting captured by a native tribe and being tied to a stake. His response was "when you speak the truth..." Jeff had offered him a lie detector test, but Coach declined. In true Survivor fashion, Coach blindsided Jeff with lie detector results, that he had secretly taken. Jeff read it on the air, and said that he would be calling the office that performed the lie detector test tomorrow. The lie detector test revealed that he had been captured by natives. "I believed you the whole time," Jeff said. Coach's friend, Melinda Trettnor, said that he was unlike the character on the show. When asked if he was the Dragon Slayer, she said "Actually, I slayed the Dragon!"

Other Updates:When Debbie returned to work as a middle school principal, she said that the response was great, and that it was a great experience. Joe's leg had healed and he was back to normal. Sydney's modeling career was slow, but she was getting some clients. Spencer said that he had had a lot of fun on the show. Jerry's friends from the military asked him "what happened?" Jeff had recently seen Candace in a commercial, and she was doing well since leaving the show. Carolina said that it sucks getting voted out first, but she felt that getting on Survivor was a gift and that she had no regrets. Sandy said that people said "you never get a second chance to make a first impression," but she had.

Jeff announced the Sprint Player of the Season. The finalists were J.T., Taj, and Sierra. The winner was J.T. He won an extra $100,000.

As was discovered a couple of months ago, Survivor 19 was announced to be at Samoa. What I thought was interesting during the preview was that they mentioned that it was the home of Treasure Island and a warrior culture. Perhaps that will come into play in the next season. I will try to keep you updated over the summer as I find out information about the filming. See you this fall with Survivor Samoa recaps!

Coach mentioned in another interview that although he had been captured by natives, they hadn't really threatened to vivisect him. He had thought about natives in the area who were known for doing those things at the time.
