Survivorman Les Stroud

Bandit
Unlike the ultimate survivorman Bear Grylls who takes along a crew with him on all of his adventures just in case of a life threatening emergency, Survivorman Les Stroud goes all alone out into the wilds of nature. He has no food, no shelter, no tools and not even a drop of water. For seven long days, Les Stroud travels on inhibited grounds and shows the viewers how to survive in any situation. There are only two things that Les Stroud takes with him and that is his cameras and his faithful harmonica. Les Stroud films his own survival out in the wilderness for those 7 days he is there.

Season Two of Survivorman premiered on November 10, 2007 on the Discovery Channel.

Les Stroud was in Mimico, Ontario on October 20, 1961. He is a musician as well as a film producer. He spent many years in the music business and all of that was behind the scenes. After a short career in the music industry, Stroud became a full-time wilderness guide, survival instructor and musician in Huntsville, Ontario. Stroud has produced several survival-themed programming for many televsions channels which include: The Outdoor Life Network, The Discovery Channel and The Science Channel. The survival skills which Les Stroud gives to his viewers each week on all of his television programs has been noted by several people as being the reason they have lived through harrowing wilderness ordeals. Just by watching Stroud on a televiosn program and listeneing on how he expalins to survive in any dire situation lets anyone that watches know that you can survive and come out alive as long as you use your head.

Les married his wife Sue Jamison in 1994 and at that time they travled to Goldsborough Lake in Wabakimi Ontarion and is a wilderness park. The two of them built a cabin without using metal, plastic, or any other manufactured tools. They did take a supply of some traditional foods and then tried to add to it by hunting and trapping. Family and medical emergencies brought them out of the deep woods on two seperate occasions. Stroud filmed their primitive living experience and then released the 50 minute documentary, which was titled Snowshoes and Solitude. The film was named Best Documentary at the Muskoka Film Festival and Best Film at the Waterwalker Film Festival.

Les Stroud has won awards for film and music and has writtne several books. He has also played with several bands including that of David Bowie and has also worked on music videos with Rush & Corey Hart.
