Susan Boyle Dreams Her Dream Again; Reaches Number One Spot on Amazon Presales for Her New Album

Susan Boyle Passes the Beatles and Whitney Houston and Her Album Isn't Out Till November 24!

Remember that frumpy sweet spectacular Scottish singer who shot to overnight fame when she sang I Dream a Dream on Britain's famous talent show, Britain's Got Talent? Susan Boyle went from obscurity as a karaoke singer in bars in her local village, Blackburn, Scotland to instant superstar as the video of her audition for the show went viral and still remains atop the You Tube charts with 275 million views!

Susan Boyle's meteoric rise to fame was short and sweet as she collapsed into hysteria and was hospitalized for exhaustion and stress after she failed to capture the winning prize in Britain's Got Talent. People . The news media and critics began to attack and write her off. They dismissed her talent, attacked her personality, her looks and her chances of ever having a successful music career. She faded into the background replaced by other entertainment news, Michael Jackson's death, Madonna's affairs and Whitney Houston's comeback album.

And yet Susan Boyle still dreamed a dream and she had supporters who believed in her. One of them, Judge Simon Cowell of American Idol fame and one of the judges from Britain's Got Talent who saw her amazing voice and presence as superstar material. He went to work with Ms. Boyle and quietly away from the media spotlight, Miss Susan Boyle is staging her own comeback.

With media appearances closer to home including several low key performances in Ireland which were warmly received, Susan Boyles is launching her career again, or perhaps it is for the first time. This time around, we see a middle age dowager becoming a charming diva. A recent photo shoot and article in Harper's Bazaar magazine shows us the same sweet Susan, but we see part of the transformation we can expect to see as she resumes her singing career with the launch of her new album.

Susan Boyle is beating out even her fellow Brits, the Beatles reissues albums and that other diva comeback, Whitney Houston. Presale orders have rocketed the album straight past Whitney Houston's on Amazon and with only five weeks for it to be "onsale" from its release date of November 24, it has a good chance of being the year's number one album in sales!

No complete play list has been released yet, but one notable inclusion is a song that Susan Boyle's herself chose; You See, a Madonna cover. Perhaps, Ms. Boyle is sending a clear message with this choice. Perhaps she's telling the world, just wait and you'll see.

During an interview on the Today show, Susan Boyle told host, Meredith Viera, "The impact, like a demolition ball. You know, and anyone who has that kind of impact..finds it really hard to get a head around it...You don't know what's going to happen. You don't know how it's going to end. I don't want it to end."

And neither do those of us, who saw the hope for a dream. However simplistic it might be, we want to believe that she can succeed; that all of us can dream a dream and bring it to fruition. I think Ms. Boyle's collapse and subsequent fight to re-emerge is a good thing. While instant fame and instant success might be a fanciful dream, fighting for a dream is more often the course that successful men and women have to take.

Susan Boyle sounds stronger, more certain, but also humbled by the fight and ready for the dream to continue, not die.

I for one, am heading over to Amazon to order her album. It's going to be my Christmas present to myself this year. As I listen to her angelic voice belting out those lyrics,"I dreamed a dream", I'm going to continue dreaming my own dreams. You go Susan. Keep fighting. Keep dreaming. And know and believe in that Amazon number one spot. That's no television talent show vote. That's real people plopping down real money to hear you sing. Believe in that.

I agree that Susan has an amazing voice, so I'm not surprised you will be buying her album later this year. Simon was spot on when he recognised that she is a very talented lady.

I hope this woman climbs to the top and stays there. She is a doll and I would be proud to call her my friend. Taking care of her mum instead of taking her own life until the time was right. Bravo Susan
