Susan Boyle Slams Reed Over Perfect Day Ban - and More

Susan Boyle was devastated when Lou Reed banned her from singing his model tune, 'Perfect Day', on U.S. TV; since he was her hero, she couldn't believe he was so "childish."

Reed later said the ban was due to licensing laws in the American market, but Susan does not buy his excuse. Talking to Piers Morgan for his life stories TV show, she says, "That's his childishness not mine. It was a bit childish on his part, especially for a man of his caliber and his talent."

Susan Boyle also talked about being in rehab. She described it as being "the most frightening experience of her life" as she was cut off from her friends and family, not allowed to watch any television and unable to make any phone calls. She was isolated from her world.

She was treated for exhaustion and insomnia at the rehab centre, but says she hated the time she was there because she found the clinic a cold and terrifying place. Being unable to make a phone call or see any of her friends and family, she felt like she was alone - like being dumped somewhere. She stated, "It was probably the most frightening experience I'd been through." She adds, "I felt that the dream was over. A bit of a nightmare, but a turning point." For two days I was thinking about myself, what my position was, was I stable? I knew I was, I was just tired. "

Susan has admitted she has mood swings likening herself to the incredible hulk. She did hit the headlines last year when she was involved in an argument with her assistant at a Japanese airport during a promotional trip. Appearing on Piers Morgan's Life Stories, she related she was really tired then - it was up and down like a yo-yo, she said.

Interesting facts rarely told in public.

Great article and sympathetic as always. I think "fame and fortune" must be very stressful especially to a sensitive person like Susan.
