Susan Boyle Taunted on Train Trip

Susan Will Sing for Pope in September

Janice Meyer
Singer, Susan Boyle turned on a group of passengers who were taunting her as she travelled from Edinburgh to Blackburn Scotland on Sunday August 22, 10.

The Scottish singing over-night sensation who received worldwide fame after her performances on UK TV show "Britain's Got Talent" last year, broke down with tears before she blasted the teenagers who had been mocking her. Someone took her photograph, after which she defended herself saying, "I'm ashamed of you all. Shut up. I don't normally get angry. It's not funny. If it was you, you wouldn't like it."

Susan was traveling alone on the 30-minute journey from Edinburgh, Scotland to her home town of Blackburn, West Lothian on Sunday, 8-22-10. An individual who saw the situation praised her for the way she conducted herself.

A source told the Sun newspaper, "Susan was minding her own business on the train. Some people were taking photos. There were people laughing at her - it was not nice. People noticed she was sobbing. Something had upset her. Susan then turned to the people sitting opposite her and told them off. She sure put them in their place - and good for her. It can't be easy dealing with the fame she has but she handled it well."

In July, 2010, it was announced that Boyle's second album - entitled 'The Gift' - would be released in November 2010. That will be exactly one year to the day since her debut record hit the shelves.

Susan Boyle is so excited to have been selected to perform for the Pope when he visits her native Scotland next month. A devout Catholic, Boyle says she is honored to be chosen to sing for the Pope. She will be singing her hit, I Dreamed A Dream for Pope Benedict XV1 when he travels to Glasgow to celebrate mass. Susan said, "It is my greatest dream come true. To be able to sing for the Pope is a great honor and something I've always dreamed of. It's indescribable. I've always wanted to sing for His Holiness and I can't really put into words my happiness that this wish has come true at last."

The Pope's visit to Scotland is a great event for Catholics in Scotland. Susan says her own faith is the backbone of her life and she is humbled and honored by this invitation and that she hopes she can do her best. She will belt out her first great hit, 'I Dreamed A Dream' for the Pope. She will also sing the traditional hymn, 'How Great Thou Art' and a surprise song for the Pope and the congregation at Bellahouston Park on 16 September.

Her performance will be beamed to more than seven billion viewers around the world.

...and I understand, that Ms. Boyle prefers her independence, as reported, but still, fame demands a different lifestyle. To refuse to give it up, will, perhaps, mean more tears.

No one deserves treatment like this, least of all someone as admirable a person as Ms. Boyle. However, she is very famous and loved the world over. I constantly marvel at the fact that she so frequently travels alone. I don't think she realizes how famous she is and should always have companions with her. The taunters were ignorant, uneducated lowlife.

How terrible. She's a very talented person, and no one deserves to be treated that way. I think I would have ignored them, but who knows? I might have told them off too.

Shame on the taunters. I think they are just jealous and what ever happened to common decency?
