A Japanese cuisine, sushi has been tagged as raw fish, but according to Wikipedia, it's more than just raw and it's main ingredient is sushi rice. Out of the many sushi restaurants in the Metro Detroit, Michigan area, I've chosen eight sushi restaurants, and of the eight, I'll give you a snippet of reviews on the locations, quality of food, and/or some prices; I may just throw a small comparison in there while I'm at it. (smile)

Let's go to the heart of Detroit, Michigan where many tourists and famous people alike travel, looking for not only a good time, but places to experience some fine dining. Fishbone's Rhytm Kitchen, located in the heart of downtown Detroit, is more of a New Orleans featured restaurant, but they offer some of the best sushi in Detroit. If you're looking for a great place to enjoy sushi and have a New Orleans experience with jazz music and large crowds-Fishbomne's the place to go.

Still in the downtown area of Detroit, Sala Thai is not that far from Fishbone's, but their atmosphere is a bit different than Fishbone's, with a 'majestic façade'-simply casual; Sala Thai features Thai cuisine, emphasizing especially on sushi. They are located in the heart of the Eastern Market in Detroit, and have operating hours until 10 PM through the weekdays.

Traveling outside of the heart of Detroit, and heading to the outskirts are sushi-offering restaurants. Going further westward, sushi lovers may wish to step inside of Musashi. Located in Southfield, Michigan, Musashi receives four of five stars! A authentic ambiance and cuisine are offered in this restaurant. They only offer the finest of Japanese cuisine, and is a perfect place for business meetings and/or private dinners.

Staying on the outskirts of the metro Detroit area, you have a nice variety of sushi restaurants: Crave Restaurant and Sushi Bar and Benihana are both located in Dearborn, Michigan. Dearborn houses one of the popular malls, Fairlane; with these two restaurants in that area, there's no doubt in having a great place to enjoy some Japanese cuisine while shopping!

Benihana is my all-time favorite Japanese cuisine in our metro Detroit area; my first experience with Benihana was welcoming. The prices are reasonable if you go around lunch time; there are lunch specials that may just cut your ordinary bill in half. The table chefs are very friendly and are willing to prepare your meals just as you like them; for instance, I cannot eat eggs, so our chef didn't put the eggs in my fried rice. Now, that's what I call good customer service!

Oh, I cannot forget Kenzi Restaurant in Southfield, Michigan-their entire experience is magnificent! Located on Southfield Rd in Southfield, Michigan, Kenzi's offer more than just Japanese, they also offer the best steaks ever! The staff is polite and heartwarming, with reasonable prices.

If you're located further north in the metro Detroit area, Nami Sushi Bar and Cafa Sushi may be the place to go for sushi. Nami offers a relaxing atmosphere, and provides a great taste of authentic Japanese cuisine. Nami is located in Ferndale, Michigan and Cafa Sushi is located on Maple Road in Troy, Michigan.

Café Sushi is a very busy place, so you may have a nice wait for your food; but when it's busy-that means it's good!
