Sushi Station, Riverside California: Tasteful and Artful Japanese Cuisine

Heather Stottman
This is hands down my favorite Sushi Restaurant in Riverside, California. Their prices are reasonable, the staff including the sushi chiefs are friendly, the food is good and arranged very artfully, and most importantly their food is of a high quality (i.e. I have never gotten sick from their sushi).

You will find Sushi Station tucked away in an almost forbidding looking shopping center near the University of California Riverside Campus. But don't let the surroundings scare you, for you are in for a culinary treat. They have a full menu with cooked items from the kitchen, salads, even a few deserts, and of course sushi. The price range is not forbidding either--prices range from $2.95 for Sushi to $52.00 for a Love boat. Most of the rolls range from $5.00 to $10.00. Usually dinner there cost my husband and I $30-$50 depending on what rolls we order, whether or not he has a beer, and if we have desert.

The restaurant is kind of small but has a lovely decor and a TV over the sushi bar in case you want to watch the big game. You can choose to either sit at a table or at the sushi bar. We almost always eat at the sushi bar because we love to see the different rolls they make and the chiefs are usually nice and let us ask questions about the different kinds of food we see going out to people. The restaurant has a very comfortable air with attentive friendly waiters.

They have a vast menu. Including several different types of appetizers which features tempura a favorite among many, several different types of salads like a green salad or a Sashmi Salad. They have many, many types of rolls from the basic rolls like the California roll or the Philly roll to the special rolls like a Dragon Crunch (Fresh water eel and avocado on a shrimp crunch roll) to just about anything you can imagine--and if you can imagine it, they will make it for you. They also have Kitchen Entrees like Teriyaki, Sesame Chicken, and even ribs. And they do have bowls, sushi and sashimi. For desert, they have 3 different types of ice cream. To drink they have several different types of soda and tea and if you eat at they restaurant they have Saki and Japanese beers. They do have some specials like a happy hour menu Saturday from 4-6 and a couple of combos which you can find on the menu. Don't want to eat there? Order it to go. Want to throw a party with sushi? They have catering platters that can be ordered (give them 3 days warning please).

I love eating here and take everyone I can get to go. Everything I have eaten at the Sushi Station has been tasty and beautiful to look at. They do excellent, excellent work here. If you like sushi then this is a place you must try.
