I think this is a disease and someone desperately needs to find a cure. For example, just the other day I am driving behind one of these monstrosities. The road that I was traveling on just happened to be under construction and many of the manholes were raised. The so-called off road capable vehicle began to hit the brakes every time it approached one of the obstacles.
Now can someone please tell me why an SUV would have to hit its brakes to go over a manhole cover that is only raised three inches off the ground? I do not understand why these people need to drive a vehicle that has a ten thousand dollar suspension if they are not going to use it.
In the past you would see these immense monsters and say wow that guy has a cool truck. But now everywhere you go there are dozens of these things filled with appalling women drivers that could not drive to save their lives.
Please for the love of the free world put both hands on the wheel and steer clear of these beasts they put every life on the road in danger.
Let me tell you this. Every year children are killed in their own driveways by their own parents. What does that say about our society today? This world needs a little help and only you can make a difference. I say put an end to the madness soon or we are all doomed.
Bless you all for driving responsibly and for all of you who do not, please use public transportation.

Post a CommentEvery great once in a while as I am driving my traditional automobile I actually look up to see that I am following 2 or 3 other automobiles. It's like some sort of religious experience! I can actually see through the windows of these cars and can actually anticipate what is coming ahead. Then there's reality. In the area of the country where I live the SUV dominates the streets and roads. It absolutely sucks. I have no vision at all. I almost hope gas continues to go up.
You know what, Janet? Even when you write about a serious subject, your way with words and expressions is so clever, like "Please for the love of the free world put both hands on the wheel and steer clear of these beasts they put every life on the road in danger," that it makes me laugh so hard that I start crying. You've put me in stitches without even attempting any sports play...like when I played flag football and ran into a large metal pole around the track, breaking my glasses and leading to 31 (not Baskin Robbins flavored) stitches over my right eye!
Excellent article. I love the spirit you put into your articles. They're fun to read. :-)
Love this!!
