Suzie Weather and Her Dog Max

Walking the Dog

Charles Melius
Sweet, lovely young weather girl Suzie
Conditions outside damp and oozy
Her big black dog Max, takes she from the cats
They walk in the rain not so cozy

With long yellow leash in her hand
Ole Max soon the road he'd demand
To tear at high speed, on down to the tree
Where last he remembered he ran

Dark droplets beat down in wild torrents
For Max this no major deterrent
Must zip now along, to some fresh new lawn
Where never before dropped his walnuts

Red fireplugs quick shot as he'd pass
Then urgently on till bright 'flash'
Loud thunder so sharp, he'd jumped like a dart
Heading wildly back home in a dash

Poor Suzie dragged arm length along
No chance of her singing a song
This trip is all over, till next time in clover
Through new storms they'll trudge ever on
